NEW M600i Firmware available from update service

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Kman79

Date is 6/28/06; 2:35 AM central time, just so people have a reference as to when this update was done.

Didn't get a chance to see what version I had prior, but I know yesterday when I reflashed it it said I had the current firmware, now there was an update available

Phone: CXC 162037 R3A004
Bluetooth: CXC 162058 R3A01
Organizer: CXC 162071 R3A06
CDA: CXC 162011/2 R3A03

I haven't had much chance to play test it out. I've been having issues with the phone freezing up with the messaging portion of it, hopefully this fixes the problem. Let me know what you guys think of it

Posted by: shaolinmonk

it's suppose to be a very worthwhile update and addresses a lot of the issues.

Posted by: Kman79

It definately seems to be a good update by Sony Ericsson.

I've used the phone heavily for the past hour and a half. I've been going through the phone like a mad man. E-mail works flawlessly, messaging is fine, calls are great. No lockups and the phone definately feels snappier. Before the phone would freeze up on messaging after a while, and that hasn't happened since the update. Rock solid update so far, I'll let you guys know if any issues come up.

Posted by: CorruptedSanity

How does one find out when a release is available and secondly, what it resolves or updates?

Posted by: bilbo__baggins

Has anyone managed to update the firmware using a Mac? I had real problems when I owned an i-mate PDA2k because the firmware couldn't be updated even with Virtual PC. Perhaps something like Parallels with a new Intel Mac will work?

Posted by: Indighost

That'd do it, but as far as other PowerPC support, there is none... not even through VirtualPC.

This has happened to me a few times in the 2 weeks. I'll do the update tonight after work. I'm really looking forward to it.

Disable the on-screen handwritting and the UI speed is fantastic. I also use a Sony Clie Th55 which has real RAM as opposed to flash memory and the M600i is as quick as my Clie - a great achievement for a 200mhz CPU (feels faster then my HTC Universal as well).

Posted by: wesseam

how did you guys update the firmware, mine keeps saying detecting phone and nothing happens?
and what button do you hold instead of the "c" button since this phone doesn't have one?

The phone does have a "c". It is the letter c (the right side of the 7 key).

Supposedly you can also use the internet button on the right side of the phone.

thanks

how do you disable this?

Main Menu --> Tools --> Contol Panel --> Device --> Text Input --> Handwriting and the select keyboard only.

Hope that helps

Anybody else has problem with BB Connect after upgrade?

I upgraded my M600 yesterday and after the upgrade BB Connect is not working anymore - I re-installed it but it does not change anything my provider cannot send Service Books to the phone anymore.

The upgrade makes the phone a little faster and fixes some bugs but at the same time it is incompatible with the BBC I have

Anyone has a version of BBConnect that works with the firmware upgrade? What other solution do I have to have push emails?

Posted by: darkmarc

Do any you wizards know if the Sony Ericsson Update Service requires any Internet Connectivity once the application is fully started? Because my only current internet connectivity is the phone itself, and during the update process one must shut it down..

I get as far as attaching the phone to the USB cable while holding the Internet button, it then says release "C" button, I release Internet Button, and the app then seems to get stuck in the "Identifying Phone" phase. I have waited for 10-15 minutes but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

I had sooooooooooo many problems with this phone, that I will be getting rid of it and going back to E61. E61 is much much more stable than M600, Even upgrading it to latest firmware doesn't help at all.

Posted by: CorruptedSanity

kamranwpi, really? Even the latest firmware didnt help? What problems are you facing? Maybe its a user problem rather than a phone problem?

Posted by: kamranwpi

Frequent freezing of the phone w/o any reason. I would be surfing the web and it would just lock on me, then I would shut it down and only way to do that is by taking the battery out, and taking the battery out and putting it back in isn't fun either.
Second problem I have is, that Exchange wont work, it works fine w/ E61, but not w/ M600. I have tzone plan, and all of my other phones sync fine.
I want to LOVE this phone, but it's not happening. Also the other day I was talking on the phone, and phone froze, and it wont even let me shut the call off, since there isn't any hard button on the phone to shut the call off. Any way, I had my good 3 days with this phone, and I am not going to turn it on again. It's going to go on ebay.

It seems like you made your mind up already but it seems to me that your phone seems to be the exception rather than the norm.

I also don't think you've downloaded the latest firmware update because some of your problems just don't exist with the latest firmware update (i.e. there IS a hardware button that ends the calls).

Which hardware button ends the call? also where do I get the latest firmware? I have a UK version of SE M600i I think, so I did select English UK. THen updated the firmware, and I thought that would have fixed it.

I still have the phone, please tell me where should I go and update the firmware? IF all goes well, I love this phone. Don't take me wrong. I want to LOVE this phone, size apps, everything is perfect.

Are you watching SOCCER? Great game between ITALY/FRANCE.

kamwanwpi, the jog dial on the left hand side is the physical button to switch it off. Push it in to accept a call and to end the call. Get the latest firmware rfom sonyericsson.com and support. Download the small software to upload the newfirm ware instantly into your phone!

I was just about to comment on the game! Stupid finale for Zidane. No sportsmanship at all.

Furthermore, you can reject calls by pressing the back button

kamwanwpi, you should check for a newer update (R3A)

Does anybody know if you can use the phone you are updating as the Internet Connection?

Thanks!

what is BB?

Blackberry.

Blackberry Connect (or BBC) allows you to get Blackberry on your symbian phone (if compatible and supported).
The M600i does have this option if you want push emails, the only problem is to get the .sis file which is curently only available through Singtel (Singapore) and another provider in Sweden.
The .sis file currently available only works with the original firmware, they are not compatible with the latest version.

Posted by: howdoin

New firmware update posted today.

Downloading as we speak and will try it out with Blackberry Connect ASAP. I know that tSE Singapore has a fix for the blackberry connect but they won't release it outside of their service center, no download, the fix it BBC 3.31 sis file.

Well update took a long time. I do not see much difference for the moment, maybe a better reaction time when opening menus but that seems to be it.
Tried to load the BBC 3.28 but it still is not working... someone please post the 3.31 asap

I just updated using SEUS and its now R4A002. I've forgotten already what the previous firmware was, but it kept warning me of low battery even when it was 87% charged.

Posted by: RxistKJ

Thanks bilbo,

Have you, or anyone else who has installed this latest firmware, noticed any minor or major improvements? Any new functionality discovered yet for example the ability to create profiles (meeting, silent, etc.)?

Thanks in advance

Posted by: bilbo__baggins

I only received the phone yesterday. After spending about an hour looking through the menus, entering settings for data access, pairing bluetooth with my computer. I only discovered 2 problems 1) the ridiculous amount of time spent showing a Windoze style egg timer after telling it I wanted UK English after switching on the phone for the first time (I assumed it had crashed, but fortunately didn't attempt a reset, then after about 2 minutes it continued). 2) Once I got the internet working, I got a few low battery warnings when it had 87% charge, then it switched itself off.

These were the only problems I discovered.

Since the update, I found that it still displayed the egg time for a ridiculously long time when first switching it on again (no improvement at all). I have not had any low battery warnings so far.

I'm amazed how fast Bluetooth 2.0 is! I used the address book in Mac OS X to send all of my contacts as v-cards to the phone (304 cards, some with addresses etc), and it took about 3 seconds. Unfortunately Apple haven't supported the M600i with iSync yet, so I've now got to work out how to get my calendars across and I'll be sorted.

I haven't had a chance to see what 3G browsing is like, as my house is in a small partch without 3G signal (due to a hill I think).

Posted by: Roger

Just had my phone firmware updated to R4A from R1A. Not totally sure but I think I am disappointed!

1. Still have the problem of my Jabra BT headset not keeping the bond and having to power off the phone and restart the process from the beginning. Also getting failure with Kern 3 even though it succeeds. Callers now complaining a bit about the sound whereas last night on R1A the Jabra, while the process was flawed, at least sounded amazing.

2. Still cannot get the headset to recognize voice dialling from contacts.

I am totally in love with the phone visually, tactile, and other ways, but to have this many bugs, and be this difficult to set up is ridiculous.

Giving it another few days then returning to my PEBL and H500 perfection.

If any of you have any other ideas about 1/2 please let me know!

Cheers,

Roger

Posted by: Kman79

Not sure, maybe it's just the placebo effect, but the internet browser seems to load up faster. That's about all it fixed from the previous firmware for me. I haven't had a BT problem since I updated to the previous firmware, but then again I use an SE BT headset(HBH-610) so that won't help anyone with a non SE headset.

Being a newbie to symbian, just got my m600i 2 days ago. My set has the above firmware/software whatever its call. My question is :

Is it necessary/need to update it?
If yes, where to find the update and how?

Really need advice. Thanks

Posted by: GT-[R]

i just updated mine

PDA: R3B01
Phone: R4A002
BT: R3A01
CDA: R3B01

is this the newest one? just did an update on se... i didnt notice any glitches on the previous firmware that i was running, but i think battery life is slightly improved not sure

Posted by: DruB

anyone know when we will be getting our blackberry connect back?

Posted by: Harleydog

Already is, check the usual web sites. such as www.blackberryforums.com or my-symbian.com

Posted by: pdajah

@bilbo__baggins

May help to reflash you phone (honest). Also run your battery down and charge it over night to improve its calibration. Also when you reflash remember to make sure your battery is fully charged first. For some reason a second flsah can help or a Master Reset (remember to back-up first). Also if you don't use on screen hand writing the turn it off, it improved the speed of the device.

Posted by: hondaguy

i am updating mine now. how long does this usually take? all of the progress bars are full and it is still updating the phone. it must be 30 minutes at least now.

Posted by: powerbook76

not sure if mine took THAT long but it sure does take long...
the downloading took forever (i wonder what the actual size of the file is) and updating too forever.... i'd say give or take 20 minutes....
be patient and wait and see~

Posted by: hondaguy

thanks for the advice.......but i couldnt wait. it all the green bars were full and half an hour later it was still updating. i pulled the plug and reinstalled the battery and all was well. it actually took the upgrade. downloading took about 10 minutes, but the update was at least an hour before i pulled the plug

Posted by: Kman79

On average, half an hour to DL and update, if it's seems like it's stuck I give it an hour and unplug it. Every time I've pulled it when it says its still going, everything has been fine. I would however flash twice. No harm in doing it twice, for some reason the phone is better after flashing twice back to back, could just be me though.

Posted by: ntrsfrml

srry for the newbie question.. but how i check the firmware number/version my m600?

thx

more -> Status then scroll down

I just recieved my phone Friday, but I was out of town, So I am just now charging it. And thats basically ALL ive done to the phone. Im looking on sonyericsson.com to get the software upgrade. But I cant find it. I cant even get the m600i anymore. So can sumone please help WALK me thru it? This is my 1st real PDA, Ive had the sk2 since march 05. Thats as complicated as I have ever gotten.

If some one has the time, could you PM me, or even just on AIM, ToYCeLi8

Thank you,
David

Posted by: roundqube

Here's the link to the M600i where you can download the update service.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp...ps1_1&pid=10385

Posted by: roundqube

My phone has the same "battery low" bug and wont stay on long enough to even run the update. How's that for a catch-22?

Anyone have suggestions? As soon as I plug in the USB it turns halfway on for a few secs then dies with message "replace main batteries"

Posted by: roundqube

I finally got it to start upgrading, but it got to about the 10th or 11th green bar before it stopped and went back to the main screen saying "update failed, please try again" or something similar to this.

Now the phone when turning on keeps flashing white screen then turning back off and on constantly for a few minutes before it actually turns off for good.

When I try to re-flash it, SEUS says it already has the latest updated software. I heard someone say reflashing helps but how do you do this when SEUS will not let me continue since it says I have a latest firmware?

Thanks in advanced to any and all that help.

Posted by: Freak

do the phone "vibrate" when the screen are flashing white?

my did that, turned out to be hardware problem, and know i´m going to get a new one.

Posted by: roundqube

Not it doesn't vibrate. Just half the number keys flash on then the screen flashes white and does this about 10 times before it turns off completely.

I am returning it to Hong Kong which kinda sucks cuz its going to take about 2 weeks before I get a new phone.

Posted by: weiran

Is there any way to make it flash a non-branded firmware onto my Vodaphone branded (but unlocked...) M600i?

Posted by: shaolinmonk

boys and girls....

i here that r9a is out today

Posted by: skaquixotic

what's new?

can you answer calls with the wheel yet?

Posted by: weiran

Do you know where we can get it from? The SE updater app still says I have the latest version?

EDIT: Possibly because I have to wait for Vodaphone to make a branded version?

Does anyone know of a service (paid or free) that would flash my M600 to the default SE firmware so I don't have this Vodaphone crap on it?

Posted by: skurtis

Yes the new version is:

Phone: cxc162037 R9A02
Bluetooth: cxc162058 R3A01
Organiser: cxc162071 R4C01
CDA: cda162011/2 R4C01

I ran the update service program installed the last time I updated my phone. New version seems more stable, it has not crashed yet, but the day is young. It is running a bit faster and now you can check the home screen on the phone when the keys are locked. Quite handy since you don't have to unlock the phone to see if you have messages or missed calls. Other than that, no major differences that I can tell.

An interesting tidbit, the phone's date and time were reset to 9/11/06 at around 12:40 or so UTC time...

Posted by: powerbook76

ahhh
finally able to show the contact list by first name, last name; instead of last name, first name..
memory seems to be better managed a bit by couple of megabytes..
for me, UI doesn't seem to be faster...
only other difference i saw was the hang-up sound which doesn't bother me...

Posted by: skurtis

Well, I spoke too soon... messaging still crashes the phone.

Posted by: Z3RO

Just updated to R9A02 tonight. I wish they'd actually come with a "what's new" file. This is a major release, so expect it to take some time for it to complete, even after when it's disconnected from your computer.

Confirmed changes I notice so far:
1) IMAP4 no longer displays new messages to folders not subscribed (eg, trash, etc)
2) Ability to use multiple incoming / out going servers in email
3) IMAP directory walk is now considerably faster, header fetching is done by blocks.
4) Minor cometic changes to Music player
5) Video player now can define buffer size
6) Video player now pre-fetches properly , over all performance improvement
7) Bluetooth transfer speed is now over 50K/s
8) Task manager can be killed
9) Better memory management.
10) Sync Mail box does not appear unless it's configured.
11) Files can now be written by file manager to root directory of memory stick
12) outbound calls are now default caller id hidden
13) Email configuration wizard (it opens up to SE website0

i know this question may be a little late and stupid but can anyone give me the link where to update the m600 firmware? I rather do it with a usb cable instead of paying money and receiving it over the air. So yeah. Help me would really nice.

Posted by: skaquixotic

SEUS - Sony Ericsson Update Service

Posted by: ipodlover77

uh part 2 of my stupid question. how do i work this ? lol. I did everything up to the place where it gives directions. I mean wat do i do? theres no c on the phone. Can anyone give me the easy easy easy version of the directions? and also does the fiirmware speed up the ui?

Posted by: benchmade42

instead of c, use the right shortcut button or internet default button, and YES, the new r9a002 latest firmware is very fast and stable, ever since i updated to this firmware, my m600i never crashed for straight 3 days now, menu opening and navigation is smoother and faster than the previous firmware

Posted by: kofi

With the new firmware, anyone having problems getting Blackberry connect to work? I can't seem to get the Service books after the firmware upgrade. I'm with Cingular.

just use the C on the keyboard

Posted by: skurtis

Ok, so I have been using the latest firmware for about a week and my phone still crashes regularly. The culprit, I believe, is messaging. I though maybe I didn't do the firmware upgrade right or that by recovering my backed up data that somehow the phone was still being corrupted. SO last night I did a clean firmware install and loaded my contacts, programs and email settings back on to the phone cleanly from scratch. Still crashes. Its messaging. The symtoms that lead me to beleive this are as follows: the phone lock ups most times I receive new email: the jog wheel is unresponsive, or time stops at the last email sequence, or messaging won't open, or close when I quit it from the task manager. ANyone else having similar problems? I have one email account, IMAP, about 200 or so messages on the sever, message notification is turned off. Any help or suggestions?

Posted by: meow_mix

Im using a similar configuration, but I have two imap accounts using self signed certificates for SSL. Each account has roughly 400 messages. No problem here.

Perhaps one of your email might an currupted / illegal mail headers? You might want to use a computer client to clean that out. Put everything in another root level folder outside of your inbox. I know a few people who likes to organize their email that way, which does cause serious problems.

Hope that helps.

Posted by: ntrsfrml

One small question. Should i backup all my text messages and documents before updating the firmware?

thanks!

Posted by: meow_mix

Yes, everything will go poof in this update because it's a major update.
It is also good to note that this procedure can take up arond 45mins. After the update, the phone will spend a good 15 or so mins rewriting everything. Just have patience even though it looks like you've "bricked" it.

Posted by: skaquixotic

i was going to do this earlier before heading in to work, but i'll do it when i get home. one thing i did notice was that it said i had the latest version available, but i'm using R4A. I selected English (US) i'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Should i force it to do an upgrade even though it says i have the latest available? will it actually upgrade to R9A?

Posted by: skaquixotic

ok i tried UK english this time and it still says i have the latest version available. I said continue anyways, and it installed R4A (which was already on my phone).

Right now this is what my phone displays:
Phone: CXC 162037 R4A002
BT: CXC 162058 R3A01
Org: CXC 162071 R3B01
CDA: CDA162016/69 R2A04

Can somebody tell me what i did wrong?

Posted by: skaquixotic

bah...i think i figured out my problem. i have a non uk cda with a qwertz keypad and apparently the updated firmware for that version isn't out yet. lame. shame on me for buying from x1387. :/

Posted by: monkeybuttdaan

Hi all,

I've searched for this questions already and hope you guys could shed some light. I will be getting my m600i from hong kong in a few days and was wondering whether it matters which SE website I get the firmware update from. If I go to, say the US or UK site, would I download a version that doesn't have chinese or will the firmware tool automatically select the version for me? The reason I am asking is that I think there is a newer version than the one from hong kong, but I am afraid I will not be able to read/write chinese after I download the non-hong kong version (if I could download that version at all).

Thanks.

I'm running a M600i that I purchased from HK.

the firmware group for the Organizer is: CXC 162093 R3A06
this is different from what I see others using i.e. CXC 162071.

Is it possible to change or update the organizer firmware to the generic World

Posted by: weiran

Has anybody found a way to glash the generic firmware onto a Vodaphone branded phone? They still haven't released the new version of the Vodaphone branded firmware

Posted by: ironleung

i need serious help i sold my phone to one of my clients, but the software is for europe he needs chinese, anyone know where i could get it flashed?

Posted by: weiran

ironleung: I don't think anyones is able to flash it at the moment, all the usually companies I try don't have it for the M600i. You'll probably have to wait like me.

Posted by: pikachu1965

I tried to install the update on several computers and all have the same problem (not correct Macromedia Flash player - even if I downloaded the latest update of Flash).
So my question if it is possible to update useing internet and the m600i phone?
If yes could someone explain how-to?
Thanks.

You need to install flash via IE...

Posted by: wh88

I have an M600i that I purchased in Singapore. I thought that it would have the Chinese OS and/or Chinese text messaging installed. It did not; only English.

About a month after my purchase, I decided to go to the Sony Ericsson center at Wisma and check to see if I could get my OS upgraded to handle Chinese input and to my surprise they did this for a fee of $S40.

Good Chinese handwriting recognition. You can change English to Chinese text entry on the fly and it supports pinyin as well via the soft keyboard. Has a Simplified to Traditional Chinese text converter for those of you wanting to use it in Taiwan. It slows the system down somewhat but it's not too bad. There is also a Chinese <-> English dictionary installed as well as part of the upgrade.

They said it would take 4 hrs to do the upgrade (i.e. like in 4 hours to program the phone ...) which is hard to believe.

So basically it can be done to convert an M600i to a M608c.

Not sure if this service is being offered elsewhere, but in Singapore it's kind of a necessity since they are bi-lingual over there: English/Mandarin (I'd imagine HK also).

By the way my phone's OS version w/ the Chinese OS upgrade is this (upgrade performed early December 2006):

hi,

I updated my m600i today and after the update i get aSIM card Blocked error ( anyone had this problem??

How may i fix this?? Please help

Posted by: wh88

you might want to try reprogramming the firmware again and see if that fixes your phone. if you did anything to the phone while it's reburning the flash memory it could cause issues.

if somebody else did this for you or the service center did it, have them reflash it.

I was told that my Chinese OS might have problems like this after the update but it happily did not.

I did the update today :
Phone R9EA001
BT R3A01
Org. R5A12
CDA R5A09

New USB connection Icon , when you connect USB cable you get file mode or phone mode .
when I restarted I got 11/27/2006 date so I don't know when it was released .

Anyone having problems installing 3rd party apps after this update?

I'm confused.

Can someone explain how this can be?
Doesn't the firmware update process require you to remove the SIM
before initiating the update? If that's the case how can an Old SIM be the
cause of the update failing. Is it SIM info buffered on the phone somehow?

Thx

Steve

Posted by: dellduo

lol shouldn't affect it at all. You remove the sim during the update. How can it interfere. That's crazy

I got an M600i from HK in October 2006 and it works here on Canada's Rogers network using the SIM from my T637.

Problem was the SEUS firmware upgrade always returned "No update required" no even though I know this wasn't the case.

The phone was crippled at:
Phone CXC 162037 R4A002
BT CXC 162093 R3A01
Org CXC 162093 R3A06
CDA CDA 162016/87 R2A06

Until last week when I came across http://www.kulankendi.com/index2.php

which allowed me to change from the HK World phone to a Generic World 2 CDA which then allowed me reflash the phone using SEUS.

Now I'm sitting pretty at:
Phone CXC 162037 R9EC001
BT CXC 162058 R3A01
Org CXC 162071 R5B02
CDA CDA 162011/1 R5B02

IF YOU EVER NEED TO DE / RE-BRAND YOUR M600. look no further.

A very very significant difference to the performance and functionality of
the phone. it addresses almost my gripes with the phone. The phone is much better now.

Also for the latest firmware on the M600i phones and others... go here:

I have CXC 162037 R9A002 and thought I should update my phone to the latest FW. I downloaded Update_Service_Setup-2.6.11.7.exe from SE and installed it. However when I run it it says: Failed checking application versions, please reinstall the application and make sure you have the latest version

So I checked the version number of my PC Suite and it was an old version. I installed the 1.3.11 version. It still didn't work after that. I uninstalled the update program and installed it again, but it still doesn't work. Also when I press the Sony Ericsson Update Service from within PC Suite I get the following message: The application has not been installed yet.

Anyone knows what's going on?

I have an M600i i bought in Hong Kong last August, and have been using it in the USA w/ T-Mobile since returning here, but have never been able to get a successful firmware update. I have the following:

Phone: CXC 162037 R1B01
BT: CXC 162058 R3A01
ORG: CXC 162093 R1B01
CDA: CDA 162011/6 R1B01

Any help on updating would be great!!!!

Thanks

joe

If no one else has a better more technical answer you may want to try de/reinstall the whole S/E suite. (back up your data 1st) I assume this update has never worked before for you on this machine.

When you run SEUS ensure you have a connection to the net.

Steve.

Ha ha...

Really it was easier than it looks. The longest part was waiting for a response from the KK folks to give "keys" for the credits needed to run
the "debranding" sequence.

Be patient they will respond within the service level they state on their website.

Steve.

Not sure what CDA162011/6 is but it looks old.
SEUS did not work with my HK branded M600i running CDA162016/87
until I re-branded it as CDA162011/1

So do it. It works. and it's a cheap fix.

Are you saying that Cingular can reflash your phone for free and put the generic world software on it?

It appears that there is yet another update for the M600i
Phone:
CXC162037 R9F011
Bluetooth:
CXC162058 R3A01
Organizer:
CXC162071 R6A16
CDA:
CDA1620112 R6A13

Bootstrap now has a progress bar, and video seeking seems considerablly faster. I wonder if it can play mp4 videos greater than 265mb limit.

Posted by: leanman

There is a function for transition, by default its off..What is actually that??

Posted by: meow_mix

Transition? Where's that from?

Posted by: weiran

Transitions is the way the selected item in a menu smoothly changes to the next one. I have it off as it slows down the phone considerably and was my main annoyance with this phone before they added it as an option!

Posted by: leanman

MainMenu>Tools>Control Panel>Device>>>3rd from last..

is the latest firmware worth upgrading to?

Posted by: elrizzo

I utilized this forum heavily while trying to decide if I should purchase this phone. I joined this forum strictly so I could post this thread as a thank you to all the previous threads. After all the debate about firmware and branded/unbranded phones, I decided to go for it (with my fingers crossed). I found it unbranded/unlocked for $200 and had it in my hands within 2 days. It came loaded with the most current firmware available:

R9F011
R3A01
R6A16
R6A13

As a precaution (I dont why I did it), I ran the update service anyway as soon as I got it. It did find an update but the firmware did not change. I have not suffered any crashes or freezing or anything like that. This thing works great.

This is the perfect phone to me. A full functioning PDA phone in a sleek little package. I guess since thats how I like my women too, I'll go ahead and call this phone sexy. Since not many people have seen this phone before, it gets a lot of attention.

If you were on the fence like I was, go ahead and buy it. You won't be disappointed.

I have to agree. I have the same firmware installed and have experienced no issues at all. Great device, imo.

Posted by: stunna7516

yeah i agree. i updated and restored settings from the se suite from an old fw and had problems. i reupgraded and manually reset everything and its perfect now. faster definitely.

Posted by: Helpmegod

I've had my m600i for a week, decided to update the firmware, plugged it in, detected, started to DL the firmware, finished then started to load it on to the phone.

It was taking awhile so I did some things around the house, when I came back the Update Service was at its start screen and it appeared to be finished.

Put the phone back together and started it up, just the numeric keys lit up and it wont boot up now.

The SE team said to "wait 30mins to an hour" and see if it resets itself... That has to be the most unscientific things I have ever heard.

Posted by: fade2wo3lack

I have this firmware but the earpiece volume is really low is there anyway to downgrade?

Posted by: manchuia

Was the last upgrade the last one SE is putting out for this device?

Posted by: fade2wo3lack

hope not switched back to my old phone couldnt take the low ear piece volume

Posted by: manchuia

that's odd.. my earpiece is more than adequate. I just flashed to the latest firmware when the phone came in.

Have to say I am still kicking myself int he but for taking so long to pull the trigger on this .

Posted by: ecaftermath

Hi i wonder where can I get the new firmwares?
