i found out that cingular has a BES server behind the firewall for employee's with COU lines who have it connected. you can log into intranet websites, and equipment via telnet from your blackberry.

now to convice my manager to buy 8700's for all the switch techs and field techs.

i posted a thread a long time ago about vpn for the palm. seems with this, you don't need a vpn solution.
