V3m music problems?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am trying to install the software (music essentials kit) that I got when I bought my V3m last week.

I did part 1, the install of the drivers.

I attempted part 2, the install of windows media player 10. I get an error saying the curent wmp version on my computer is too NEW and the install cannot continue.

Now, if I try to go to step 1 and start over, the drivers will not even re-install. I get an error message saying they cannot be located anywhere.

Trying to sync the phone to the compter doesn't work, it says "connect failure - check the cable connection to the PC"

I can't even figure out where to put mp3 files on the TF card using a card reader on the computer so that I can see it anywhere on the phone. Is transfering music in this manner not possible?

I'm starting to get pretty pissed about the fact that simply uploading a song to my supposedly music-capable phone is such a PITA. maybe someone out there at the wireless companies should take a page out of apple's playbook and look into why people with iPods are so happy with them - user friendly, and they work as promised. And they sell like twinkies at a fat camp, go figure!

If you really need to install WMP10, go to add/remove programs and uninstall, it will revert WMP to an older version, then try upgrading again.

I tried that folder already, but the music does not appear on the phone, at least anywhere I can find. It is not under My Music or Manage Music. How do I access it on the phone?

If the V3M is like the V3I your mp3s are stored in the audio directory on your transflash. I just put my transflash card in a card reader and tranfer my music files to that directory. I also created a directory for my ringtones and when I run the sounds program in my phone it finds them also. So it seems you can store your songs anywhere on your t/f card and sounds will find any supported music format.

That's what I did in order to put the music on the card. The music is there on the card, my computer sees it, and I can play the songs off the card on the computer. But when I put the card in my phone, I can't find the songs anywhere. I think they should showup when I choose "My Music" or "Manage Songs", right? But they are not there. So basically I have music on the card, but can't find it on the phone.

I am using the correct .mp3 format, not .wma or .acc, btw.

Any other guesses?

With verizon you need to change the format to .wma, that's why they give u wmp 10. There is a way to enable mp3s on the razr i just don't know how to(i don't own a razr i just hack my sisters when she needs me to)I've done it on all my lg phones but i haven't expirmented with the razr yet.
