i am a prepaid customer for the sk2....im gonna wait till july 10th to get it....but i really aint tryna spend no 400...so i was wondering....my credit score is pretty bad....its in the 500's i know that much lol....but um....does tmobile check ur credit if u wanna sign a 2 yr contract? and if so how much they charge...i live in jersey if that matters....thanks.

Just about all cell phone companies that require a contract check your credit.
If you have bad credit, some companies make you pay a deposit of have a spending limit.

do you know how much tmobile makes u deposit....and i just want the data plan....thats all

I have super bad credit. When I signed up in 2003 they made me give just a 75.00 deposit. Thing was they are gonna put you on smart access and I believe that the Sidekick is pretty much useless on smart access if I'm not mistaken.

I got a sidekick 2 back in March, but realized it was an impulse buy and returned it. I was orginally going to go prepaid, but the guy talked me into a contract (which would've been cheaper). I'm 19 and I have a debit mastercard; I was suprised when he said I was approved for 3 lines.

My question is was this was at a dealer, would a T-mobile store do the same? Cuz I'm thinking about getting the Sidekick 3.

so i should be iigh then??

my boy works at t-mo and he told me get an account under someone that's already with t-mo and before the first bill comes change the right to ownership to your name and u'll bypass the 250 deposit fee.

With the right to ownership, the new or potential owner is still subject to credit check

Anisoul iz right... otherwise parents would have put phones in their kids names all the time 2 bypass that fee. I used to work for t-mobile direct n indirect for 5 years... they dont play when it comes to switching accounts

right now the only way to get the $20 or $30 SK Data plan is:
1. prepaid
2. credit check w/o deposit (2 or more lines)
3. credit check w/ deposit ($250/$500)

unfortunately T-Mobile isn't offering NEW SmartAccess customers the ability to use stand-alone or add-on SK Data. at least not at the time being.

T-Mobile I believe is the most lenient carrier to approve people w/o a deposit. it is extremely difficult to be approved w/ $500 deposit since there new credit class D became avail w/ a $250 deposit.

Not true AT ALL. Sprint HAS to be the most lenient carrier. Some people only have to pay like $100 for a deposit. The never turn anyone down unless they've had a previous write-off.
