(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Anyone know if theres any way to listen to music on the Razr Vc3 besides mp3's and downloading radio off of Axcess (for Alltel users). Any website you can go to with the browser and listen to music or download music? Thanks

I sure would like to know also.... thanks for asking hope someone would answer .

julie.

Anyone found an answer to this yet?

Thanks

Simple answer: upload an mp3 to a website and see if you can listen from there.

Ok, I am a real newbie here but i did that now what kind of program do i need to do the rest of this? can I ask you? or do you mind helping me ? or can you show me a link? i am sorry for being so new to all of this. thanks julie

i guess there is no other way to do this except for what Hagios said, you can do this by uploading mp3 file to a website.

create an account on yahoo geocities and upload your mp3 to the website folder there. and access if from your mobile.

http://geocities.yahoo.com

i hope this helps

Alltel doesn't do a lot to the software on the phones but one thing they do is block the file from recieveing pictures that are not in a message. And also if you use email to mail the phone a file it will not work and lastly if you upload an MP3 to website it will not load play or download, its a limitation of OpenWave and Alltel wanting you to use Axcess Shop. I am an Alltel Authorized agent and i have personally asked these questions to numerous people at Alltel for my own benefit. The easiest way to get things on the RAZR is Mobile Phone Tools which will convert wav files on the fly to MP3 and add them to the phone.

What, MPT? probably not... but if you have a USB Data cable already...

Hit www.bvrp.com and purchase/download from there... http://www.bvrp.com/customers/motor...ng/selector.htm

two discount codes (listed on my MPT page...) are.. promotion code tech97 to get a 15% discount off. Another code that I was told works is BVRPUS. I am told BOTH can be combined to save even more!

Thank you very very much, Yes I have the Data Cord already and will purchase that, which is better just to download ringtones and to download wallpapers with the eaisest way possible the data cable I have I can get on the internet were ever I go so I really dont need a dongle am I correct? and they are a bit to detailed for me. I tried a d-link this weekend and it didnt work to well for me and I had to pay over 40.00 for it at our OFFICE MAX. and it was using Microsoft drivers and it was only installing this generic radio and microsoft emmulator thing i couldnt get it to let me double click it on the desktop for nothing and get anything although, I could send pictures to it and music to it from my laptop so i guess walpapers would of worked i had no idea of ringtones i do have a program downoaded that i do get mp3's from but how to cut them off for ringtons dont know that either. as far as i am a very newbie here ...but kinda computer savy. so i am wondering mpt's or that dongle which is the eaisest (spelling in hurry here.) sorry. thanks julie

Using Bluetooth OBEX File Transfers (i.e. using only the bluetooth dongle with its drivers loaded PROPERLY, no additional software needed...) is usually faster to transfer ring tones and pictures between your PC and phone than MPT...

In the other thread, I believe I pointed you to the PC Bluetooth Link at http://mark.cdmaforums.com if I didn't.. I'm sorry... There is info there that will help you get the Widcomm drivers (come on the CD with the D-Link dongle) working properly and switch from the MS drivers to the Widcomm ones...

$40 is kind of expensive... Especially if it was the DBT-120... Compusa has bluetooth dongles for $25 and up that work just fine with the phone... For aprox $40, you can get a newer USB 2.0/Bluetooth HCI 2.0 dongle at Compusa, Circuit City, or even best buy...

MPT has the advantage of being able to sync calendar and contacts with your PC... You will not be able to do contacts and calendar sync with Bluetooth alone....

MPT can be used over either Bluetooth or USB cable...

Well here is the thing, I got it to transfer picture from my pictures from my laptop and full songs, to my phone. but it wouldnt let me open it on my desk top also i understand i couldnt get the drivers in right, so i am taking that back and am gonna get that kenssington that peragus got then i can follow step by step from him he he great just like you for all you guy's answers. but one big big question.....

HOW DO i get a ringtone broke down from the song, or do i go to a ringtone website and transer it to my phone? is that the second step or what is the next step to get it to my getting a ringtone to my phone or i guess i have been so wrapped up in this what kind of hardware what i need and now that i am getting that underway i dont know were i am gonna go to now to figure out how to do the next step to downolad part of a song or find ringtones i like to transfter ? i hope this is not jumbled up or it makes sence..

i see alot of people changing things from .wav ect. i dont want to do all that i just want to keep it very very simple for me i dont have a ton of time to do all that just to transfter and kinda have some fun with this . that is why i wanted to know if MPT would be the way to go just for the fun but still i needed to know were i go to find the ringtones to get for that also. thanks julie lots of dumb questions i am sure. newbie really new here. thanks mark

The Kensington Dongle uses the Widcomm drivers also, and will probably have the issue of the MS drivers getting in the way... Read the PC Bluetooth link on Http://mark.cdmaforums.com it explains it, and what to do to get around it...

But once you get that figured out, you can transfer FULL length Mp3's to listen to onto your phone via bluetooth...

since the original poster asked about getting MP3's onto the V3C, to listen to music... we're starting to get off topic a little by talking about turning those full length MP3's into ring tones...

BUT...

You'll need an audio editor program and an Mp3 encoder to TRIM down your FULL LENGTH Mp3 files into a Ring Tone...

On most wireless carriers, the phone will ring about 30 seconds before voice mail takes over... so you want to trim your files to 30 seconds or less..

on my ring tone page... I have links to some good tutorials... including a link to about THE BEST guide about ring tones on the net -> http://www.ninetoez.net/moto/maketones.html It uses all FREEWARE so there is nothing to buy.... You can optionally skip the Advanced Editing section... one last thing... on my V710 and E815, I found using 48kbit/44khz/stereo when encoding the Mp3 sounds better, produces a marginally larger file and works just fine on the phone... compared to the suggested 32kbit/22khz/mono suggested in that guide....

Btw, you must CONVERT from .WAV to MP3 if you want to use it as a ring tone... (not sure if the V3C will even play back WAV files, I know my V710 and E815 don't.)...

Also on my ring tone page, in addition to many of the ring tones I use day to day... is a link about where to grab some "free" mp3 ring tones...

Cheap BT dongles, I have the ultra-slim and it works great albeit with Bluesoleil drivers. Others will disagree with me on the quality, but it's never failed me.

I don't know. I don't use that software as I already have "commercial" stuff that works fine..

Try -> THE Definitive 'How to make mp3 Ringtones' Guide as it was started by the owner/author of those directions I linked...

You do realize that that phone does NOT support A2DP profile, or advanced audio profiles... as such, you can NOT listen to MP3's via Bluetooth...

you must used WIRED headphones. Sorry.
