Just purchased my Slider remix, and the phone tools doesn't work. Anyone have any tricks to get it to work? I tried to do the live update, but that doesn't help any.

what messages are u getting?

Well, I gave up on phone tools. I downloaded bitpim, and got that to recognize the phones filesystem. Everytime I add a ringer into it, it doesn't show up anywhere. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Anyone else start picking apart this phone yet?

I've been connecting with USB. I called kyocera today to try and figure out phone tools, but they told me i need to have a menu option in the service menu(when you press 111111 then options then service) that says tether something...not sure exactly what he said. But that option is not available. Tried to find it in PST, but don't see any options for any tether menus. Any help on this would be great, is it really so bad to want some ringtones?

For my slider se44 i used bitpim, but for my remix i didnt need kpst or any other programs to put ringtones into my phone , i just downloaded the driver and plugged in the usb cable then put the phone into file transfer mode through the menu and dragged and dropped the mp3 files i wanted as ringtones into the saved sound folder on the transflash card ( or you can just use the sd card instead of the usb cable if you have one after you format it ) also you might want to go to folder options and uncheck the box marked "hide file extensions" so that you can rename the files ".mid" that way you can use youre ringtones as default ringtones instead of just for contacts ( you dont need to convert the files just rename them ) and you can find mp3 splitter programs to get the specific part of an mp3 that you want as a ringtone...hope that helps
