v557 call volume

Hey everyone. This is my first post so please cut me some slack. I've been looking through the forums for a long time trying to find a possible fix for my problem. My motorola v557 phone’s call volume during conversations, are really low no matter what the setting is. Sometimes the phone will have normal volume; sometimes you can barely hear a voice on the phone. It’s not a problem with the volume settings.

Right now the phone seems like junk and I am forced to use my girlfriend’s old nokia (which I may add feels very girly for some reason…). Is there anything I can do to fix it? I’ve had it for almost a 1.5 years of a 2 year contract, and it seems like I have a long time left to be using a geriatric, feminine nokia.

Thanks in advance!
Matt

head over to the motorola forum and search for "seem editing." you can download a program on your computer to edit the "gain table" which is where you can increase the call volume. do your research and look hard. it will seem like complicated stuff at first, but its really not.

Thanks. Looks pretty straight forward.
