is it my imagination or is the reception worse on the sk3?

i figured with the additon of the 850mhz band that the reception with this phone would be noticeably better especailly in fringe coverage areas like mine. but to me it actually seems to be a bit worse. my phone has been doing that thing where the internet thing just freezes into two balls like its trying to connect again and then doesnt. my sk2 was doing that for a while, then i got a replacement via insurance and it seemes solid again. this is happening in areas wherer i know i should be getting full signal. maybe this is happening with all the usage of the new sk3?

the new sk3 we are getting seems to be rough around the edges, as was the first sk2 before all the ota and updates. I believe things can only get better with time. I'm expecting an ota update very soon...

A fair number of people on the hiptop.com forums have noticed the same thing. The current thought is that the unit is designed to pick up EDGE if it's available at all rather than drop back down. No one is really sure if that's true. It's a theory. But, yes, people have noticed that with SK2 and SK3 side-by-side the SK2 always shows more bars. (Of course, we all know, bars don't necessarily indicate proper signal strength.)

VERY dissapointed with this SK3 to be honest with you, service SUCKS

Because it is new and still has bugs that will be fixed in an OTA. Suck it up, you bought it early when you should of known a new phone will have problems until updates.
