does anyone else notice that the wallpaper pictures don't fill the whole screen now

Posted by: lenearequation

YES! I did notice the wallpapers don't fill the whole screen. Finally, somebody else with the same problem. All the wallpapers are like small and centered vertically and horizontally on the screen. How can you fix this? It happened just after installing this software update. Can anyone help me/us out?

Posted by: flipfone

Spirit, do you have the ISB to go with this release? I would like to read it. Thank you.

Posted by: iceman0510

to make them fill the screen i had to take the pictures off the phone and convert them to a gif. The quality isn't as good hopefully we can find a better solution

Posted by: DrUnKeN_TiGeR

So the question is should i do this update or not?? What else does it fix? What else does it mess up? How bad does the wallpapers look now?

Posted by: iceman0510

i have found that my phone seems to act better and all you need to do is change the image to a gif to get it to stretch

flipfone and anyone that is interested,

Here is what the Motorola has said:
Resolved in this Release

International request for short messaging service (SMS) messages "From" Feild
The first one was that I posted it up there

Multimedia Messaging Service Arrival
The Backlight does not activate if the flip is open after recieving an MMS. The handest continues to play the ringtones and the keypad backlight flashes.

Java Stress Testing
If an end user removes the battery in excess of seven times while running a preload java game or application, the unit may remain in "Java APP Starting..."...mode and the unit is not able to be recovered.

Media Player
The handset does not play media in ".wav" or ".midi" format that is located one leve below the root directory.

Roaming SIMs with different International Mobile Station Identifier (IMSI) length
Some handsets may not work correctly with SIMs that have different International Mobile Station Identifier (IMSI) lengths.

There you have it.

This software is very buggy. I can't take pictures with my cam anymore. I keeps saying media error or it shows a grabled screen. Does anyone have the R1C.02.02 software?

No moto did not release that software. I think it is your flip that is bad or unit's board.

When you take a picture it stores into your multi media file. When you have a message saying multi media error. It means that the camera is defective and is unable to take a picture and store it to your multi media file.

I am trying to upgrade to the new software and it says reading phone information, the bar goes to the end then an error message comes up, cannot connect to phone take battery out and if this problem continues call customer service? any clues on this one??

Posted by: flipfone

Is it set for USB mode? Did yo load the USB drivers?

Posted by: lenearequation

FDX073092...try this. it helped me get it on.. it works for R1C.02.03 even though it says R1C.01.01... and you obviously need RSS to get your CP before you do this. i was getting the same error as you.

This applies for JUST a software load, it won't reload your codeplug, but that shouldn't matter. And also make sure your codeplug is 44.02 before attempting this, as I can't vouch that it won't kill your phone if the code plug version isn't already compatable for the soft ware version the upgrade util will load. Download the R1C.01.01 util from moto's site, and RSS Carrier, I believe 16.16 is the most recent version. A link to this site was previously posted.

Connect the phone and open RSS.

Click File, Read SIM, and watch for the phone to switch to RSS SIM mode. As soon as it does, click Cancel on the SIM read window, if it finishes, it'll power cycle the phone out of SIM mode.

*edit*
forgot this :P

Click file, Read Phone. With the phone in RSS SIM mode, it shouldn't give a codeplug is corrupt error.
*end edit*

Click the root tab and copy the phones serial number out of the codeplug.

Click file save, browse to the i860 upgrade util's Backup Codeplug folder and save the codeplug as the phone's serial number.dbf.

Close RSS, open the upgrade util. Check the recover box and start the upgrade. It will read the codeplug from file, skipping the phone read and bypassing the error. It will erase the existing software and load the new version. When it tries to restore the codeplug, it will error again, but this shouldn't matter, since the codeplug is still in there.

Atleast you get the new software this way, and the phones seem fully functional afterwards, we've done some thorough checking here. If you try and force sim mode at the second error and click retry, the app will crash, altho this does work for some older falcon models, such as i710s.

hope this helps some folks.

This exactly how the theme loaders work. tis tricking the upgrader util into thinking the phone needs to be upgraded

Posted by: imprezzivesti

when i do that it says that it cannot find the backup codeplug! what exactly does it have to be named if for an i860. i'm assuming it goes in the backup folder for the upgrade utility. but what are you supposed to name it?
