Quick question about MediaNET and 8125

I'm thinking about getting the 8125 and was wondering if you're able to access the medianet home page and if so, is the medianet home page the same style as it is say, on a moto v3?

Thanks.

anyone reading this topic know?

Make sure your proxy is turned on. Otherwise you won't be able to see any MEdia Net pages.

ROM is default set to My ISP. Under connections/networks, change to Media Net and add wireless.cingular.com to proxy settings. You cannot use wifi with proxy on, however.

Slight thread hijack (sorry!) but so wait, you can't use wifi with the proxy on? Opera seems to work fine going from medianet to wifi, and I am using medianet unlimited, with the wireless.cingular.com proxy enabled..

You are mistaken. With the proxy enabled, the internet will not function over wifi.

still not working guys, any other resolutions?

Was able to figuar it out. Start / Settings / Connections (tab) / Connections (icon) / Advanced / Select Networks / change both drop down menus to MEdia Net.

That fixed it for me, and already had the proxy settings in it.

I have PDA unlimited and my phone was set under 'select networks' to 'my isp'. When I would run a speedtest I was testing out at under 100 kbit/sec, but after changing the setting under select network to 'Media Net' I can still access all my favorite pages via Internet Explorer, but now at a speed between 175 - 250 kbit/sec. Why the speed difference? Is it OK to access the internet using these settings if I am a PDA unlimited data user?

I've unfortunately also noticed that when using these settings, which speeds up the internet on the 8125, you can't access email using messaging. I have 3 email accounts set up to be checked every 15 minutes, so I guess I'll just have to browse the internet a little slower to keep email coming.

Ya I had to switch back to using My ISP because using MEdiaNet wouldn't let me view wap.howardforums.com. Just showed a blank page.

Hmm, thats odd, I use the MEdiaNet one and I can see wap.howardforums.com just fine.

Just found out you can set the accounts to use a different connection other than the default.

With outlook open hit Menu / tools / options / select the account you want to change / hit next 3 times until you see the server information page / options / change connection to my isp.

This way you can have medianet set as default for the faster speeds, but still able to check email.
