You should just get yourself the sodderless mod, you can do it yourself, very easy!

Where can I get one of those?

Posted by: Superzero

uh, this mod can be solderless, but it requires the pogo pin add-on and it cost 50$, and the connection is not as good as a solder point, so it can go malaigned over time or during moving, which requires you to open the box up again, and re-do it, where as, solder is gonna stay.

i do believe there are other solderless chips that do not require a plug in, not too sure though, i'm currently trying to do this myself with people's x-boxs...i've already gotten the software down, with the boot disc for the evolution software

u can check out easybuy2000.com
they have the Matrix modchip.
It's solderless and ppl who reviewed it says it's very solid~

hmm....i been meaning to post up a thread like this too. I was wondering where X-box's could get chipped in the toronto area.

I checked a few places in pacific mall, they wouldnt do it.

hmm..well hopefully someone here will have a solution

Yeah, currently i'm running the Matrix chip...it is awesome!!

if you guys want i can do the install for $55. not experienced with the xbox, but ive done tons of ps2's. If you want to get it done lmk, all I need are the instructions that you should have got with your chip. If you dont have them lmk and I will get them.

I no longer need the service, i found someone in mississauga that will do your chip for 25$ if you bring your own chip, or 80$ for install + homebrew chip, and if you would like to upgrade you hard-drive, he'll do it for free (with the installation of a modchip) or 20$ without

oh yeah, included wit the install price, is a switch, so you can turn your mod off/on so you can go on XBOX LIVE!

hmm homebrew chips, that sounds interesting, I think I will look into making those cause the xectutor 2 pro chips are like $95.

anyways $25 sounds cheap, xbox must be really easy to mod then, probably has big solder points or even better solder pads. how many wires is the chip do you know? I hope its not like the ps2 with 22-24 wires. btw switch only costs like $0.50cents from radio shack, what you would do is slice the power connection wire on the chip, then add a wire to it and to one pin, and then the other side of the power goes on the first pin, and the ground in the middle. You can get the ones with the LEDS so it lights up when on or is off when turned off. Those would cost around $2-$5 though. Can also do a button with the same principle.

x-ecuter 2 pro is more for the developer type ppl, but if you only want to play some "back-ups" of your games, go for a x-ecuter 2 lite instead cheaper than the pro, but yeah, these homebrews are using the x-ecuter 2 bios, and it's flashable, so if there's an updated bios or wanna use a different one, just flash it.

in response to the switch thing, some ppl don't even wanna touch the insides of their box (like myself) in fear of messing something up, so it's good to have an installer include it, so you wouldn't have to do it yourself.

x2l is like 9 wires i think, and can be wireless if you get the pogo-pin add-ons, and i had one installed, but the thing decided to screw me over cuz the bios was messed, and i needed to hot swap it with another x2l, so i just got homebrew in place of it, so it's coo, and i think the homebrews are like 20+ wires, not shure of the amount, but as long as it's working, it's coo

does anyone have the chip in their xbox and xbox live? can they catch you?

Posted by: DJXP

thanks, 9 wires geez i wish ps2 was like that. ps2 22 wires on this little mini board with impossible points on some systems.
As I am learning Xbox just has 2 different versions only not 7 (11 if you count the gap/non gap and new v8)
thanks for the info about the chips, I think the homebrew must also be 9 wires, but has the advantage of being flashable with a programmer? Anyways that is very cool, I foresee myself buying an xbox very soon.

no xbox here, but they will ban you , that is why you need the switch to turn the chip off.

Posted by: faibs

Where do you buy the copied games?

Posted by: Superzero

wit the homebrew, you don't need a programmer, if you have program called EvoX installed on the hdd, you can put the bios onto the hard-drive, and flash it from there, it depends on which flashable chip though. cuz some of the other generation modchips won't be able to do it. and some include a programmer like the e-xcuter 2 pro

Posted by: Superzero

you can "rip" it onto your hard-drive, and play directly from there. or obtain them thru the net, and have a network to the xbox and transfer it over to the xbox. so you can just to over to your local blockbuster and................

Posted by: faibs

where on the net do i download these games and how do i transfer them onto my harddrive? and how can i rip then onto my harddrive directly?

Posted by: Superzero

directly rip, you need a modchip, and to transfer from pc to xbox, you need a network and a modchip
