Help with Now MMS on my GD87 [long story]

Maybe someone else out there can get this working on their GD87... I've tried everything, and I'm totally stumped
[Note: If you've never heard of Now MMS, it's a free service which allows anyone who has an MMS enabled mobile phone to send and receive MMS messages, no matter who your GSM provider is. Their website is located at: http://www.nowmms.com]
Anyways, I've been trying to get the mms services functioning with my Panasonic GD87 in Canada with the Fido [Microcell] network. However, I have encountered some errors. I'll give you a step-by-step through my activation process, to help better understand the situation.
1) After entering in my account information, I clicked on "Configure My Phone". I chose the option "Canada - Microcell/Fido". When I received the sms which configures the mobile phone to accept mms messages, it displayed "8-bit encrypted data" in the header of the message, and would not allow me to open it [my only option was to 'delete'].
2) I decided to move on to the next step anyways, to see what happened. I clicked on "Send me a test SMS Message". When I was sent the test sms message, it was received properly, and displayed fine.
3) I decided that I should try to configure the mms options manually to see if I could get things working myself, and this is what I entered in my mms server options:
Server URL: http://mms.now.co.uk/MyUserName=MyPassword
Gateway IP: 213.048.020.010
Bearer Type: GPRS [GPRS Settings are as follows:]
AccessPointName: internet.fido.ca
User ID: guest
User Password: <left blank>
Authentication: Normal
4) After entering the settings manually, I went on to the next step and chose "Send me a test MMS Message". A message appeared on my mobile screen, showing that the message was downloading onto my phone. However after 17kb of downloading over GPRS, the screen showed "Disconnecting", and then displayed an error message "Receive Failed". I went in to my MMS inbox, under the subcategory "Noticebox". The notification for the test MMS message was in there, and when I clicked on it, it tried to download the message again. However, every time I tried, it would disconnect and display the error message "Receive Failed" after downloading 17kb of data.
5) Now this is the strange part... I thought I might as well try creating my own mms message [just for fun], not expecting it to work at all. But to my surprise, I received the notification "Message Sent" on-screen; it looked like it was sent successfully! In the "To:" line of the mms, I sent it to my own address at Now MMS since I don't know of anyone else using this service. So a few moments after I received a message on my mobile screen showing "Message Sent" so that my message was being downloaded, but again, the error message "Receive Failed" was displayed. I looked in the "Receivebox" subcategory in my MMS Inbox anyways, and to my amazement, the mms message I sent to myself was in there! I opened it up, and it showed that it originated from my mobile phone at the correct time, and the Subject line was the same etc. However, the actual mms data was not received properly, as it showed a little icon with a red line through it in the place where the colorful message I created should have appeared.
So now I can't figure out what the problem is. It looks as though I can successfully send mms messages from my Panasonic GD87, but I can't receive them as a whole [only the information about the mms message appears, none of the actual mms data].
If anyone has got this service to work correctly, or wants to give it a try, I would really appreciate any input!!
Thanks in advance

I don't have a GD87, so it will be hard to tell. I can tell one thing though, the configuration via SMS is only supported by Ericsson phones, if I am not mistaken. That's why it didn't work for you. Regardless, manual configuration should work.
When I receive a MMS on P800, it receives an SMS message, stating I have a MMS message, then I go to my MMS inbox, do a send & receive and it downloads and displays the message without any errors.
As double check, you can send a MMS to your regular email address and see if the image and SMIL data comes.
I don't think the error is related to Fido, rather it is an issue either with GD87 or your account at nowmms. If you have a friend with a MMS supporting phone, try it on his, and see what happens.

I'm not sure what exactly is wrong, but I'm also having problems using NowMMS with my Sony Ericsson T300
I had the SMS with WAP settings saved in it downloaded to my T300, so technically, everything should work fine. I rechecked all of the settings in it as well, but it still can't send or receive MMS.
Like you said though, I doubt it's provider specific. I must just be having problems setting up the service correctly on the phones.
I also have a suspicion that the GD87 may not work correctly with NowMMS... perhaps I'll just have to wait until my provider provides MMS service.
Any other GD87 users care to try it out on their phone to see if it works?

I was going to sign up for the nowmms service, till I put the brakes on when I got to the "I Agree" page. They plan on sending "no more than one (spam) per day. but this limit is NOT GUARANTEED".
Uh, no thanks.
If another cheap or free service comes around, or Fido gets MMS rollin', I'll sign up and happily be a test guinea pig for anyone who wants to figure out the service or send mms messages. But I feel kinda sorry for anyone who signs up for NoMMS - doesn't look like there's anyway to remove your phone number from their service if you want to opt out or unsubscribe... scary. Spam for life? Or until you change your phone number?

actually, to get yourself off the "spam for life", you just go to edit your user settings and change your phone number. Unless they keep a database of all numbers entered, you shouldn't worry.
