Post only 176 x 220 pixel Animated/Non-Animated wallpapers for the Samsung D807/T509/A920/A930/D520.

No nudes or overly sexy pictures - All posted or linked pics must be PG-13 or lower. Moderators have the right to judge what is not appropriate. Links to questionable sites will be removed so don't post any references or mentioning of them.

You can find more 176 x 220 pixel images in the Motorola Forums as not many Samsungs used that specific size until now.

Here are the links to them. Some are no longer available in the earlier threads as they have exceeded the bandwidth or expired on the image hosting sites they were posted on.

If you want to create your own wallpaper for the T509, I've found that this way works best.

Create a new 176 x 220 pixel image, and just fill it with whatever you want. Simply transfer it to your phone and set it as your desktop. I made this little guide image to show you where the logos are placed, in actual size:

okay i just got one of these babies, and i was wondering what format are animated wallpapers. i know there is a defualt t-mobile one that can be chosen so i am pretty sure that i can make some custom ones. i just need to know what file type they are. if anyone knows please reply

Ive been using Photoshop to resize images from 1280x1024 to 176x220 (about 50kb). But when i copy them across to my motorola v360 and i go to view them it says that the image is too large.

I've had this problem too and have worked around it by saving the same image as a .bmp. I haven't figured out why the image is too large to open, but the bmp trick works fine for me.

I found out why it was saying file too large even though i had resized it to 176 X 220. (Solved my own problem)

1)Open the picture you want with photoshop.
2) Navigate to "Image>Image size" on the menu.
3) Untick "Constrain Proportions"
4) Enter 176 for width and 220 for Height.
5) CLick ok
6) GO to "File>save as..." and select a location where you want to save the picture.
Name it anything you want.
For "Format" select JPEG (.JPG JPEG JPE)
7) Under "Image Options" change the "quality" to "maximum"
Under "Format Options" make sure you select "Baseline ("Standard").
Under size leave it at "56.6kbps"
8) Click OK
9) Transfer over to phone

NOTE: This Guide relates to Photohop 9 CS2, but should be very similar with previous versions.

The reason it didnt work for me previously was because i had the option "Baseline Optimized" or "Progressive" selected, which gave the error file is too large to open.

I downloaded these great pictures from this thread (thank you), and uploaded them to my phone ... however, it doesn't look as clear as viewing on this page ... it's kindda blurry and pixelated ... are there something i need to do to the images before uploading to my phone?

The quality depends on your phone's screen quality. I highly doubt it'll be as clear as on a computer monitor.

I have a D807 and i've seen a bunch of awsome .gif files on this forum and on the web. Everytime i send them to my phone, their not...Animated. Im not sending them to my phone using the USB method or using bluetooth but rather from a website. Its a fine site and i can send myself ringers and wallpapers from it...but i was just curious if there is a way you have to send animated wallpapers. Any advice?

I'm using Samsung software - PIM and File Manager to transfer the .jpg's to my t509. On the phone, I find them in Images - downloads. I then set as Wallpaper. But I have a band across the top and bottom.

Know how I can tranfer differently to use the photos full screen?

Can I simply Transfer it through E-mail? And if so, why does the resolution change drasticly to a smaller image?

Blame that on the Providers Server automatically resizing the image. Better to bluetooth it to the phone or copy it onto a MicroSD card in your computer, to copy over to the phone memory and the image will not be changed.

They didn't work 'cause they are 240x320

(hence the name of this thread). Your fone is 176 x 220.

if the gif is the right size why doesnt it fit the phone? it comes in with a white border and only about 2/3 of the height when I email it to myself. adding it via cable and Bitpim eliminates the motion of the eye.
regular jpegs fit fine but gifs always seem to do this

Does your phone support animated GIFs?

My suggestion would be to copy the *.GIF file onto a MicroSD card, insert it into the phone, copy from the card to the phone memory and try selecting it as the wallpaper/screensaver. Sending through MMS/E-mailing to the phone does not guarantee it will retain its properties as the providers server may convert them differently.

my phone supports the animated Gifs it just doesnt cover the whole screen when they are 176x220. I wonder if it needs to be bigger? 176 x 200 works fine on still pics
tried uploading directly to the t/f card then made it wallpaper. same results

This is the best i could do...you had requested 5 players, but I had to downsize to only 4. 100K is not alot of room to play with. They go through the animation VERY fast here, so I don't know how they will act on your phone. If it is too quick, I would suggest choosing your 2 favorites...from that I can lengthen the time line so you will see them longer.

I am having the same problem. I own a D600 and D807. I tried to take some of the animated gif of the D600 but I get file not supported. Also I tried to play some of the video that played fine on the D600 (.mp4 and .3gp). I get "Unsupported media"?

I compiled and modified some of these animated wallpapers so they would fit 176x220. I tested them on the Samsung D807. I DID NOT CREATE THESE!! I do not want to take ANY credit for these as I did not create them and credit should go to those who made them. I have a LG MX500 and remember that I was able to upload some images which I used as wallpapers, now I do not remember which format they were and also what the size should be, this phone has two one small in the front and one large inside, does anyone knows what size and if .bmp or jpg should be the images to upload
