I am trying to find an option for using GPS with my 8125. I want to know if TomTom NAVIGATOR 5 – Bluetooth

http://tomtom.com/products/product....=103&Language=4

or Garmins GPS 10

http://www.garmin.com/products/gps10/

will work. Or are there anyother options?

I use this with PocketStreets and Fugawi Global Navigator:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/gr236.php

Cheap, good performance, can use the 8125 recharger and cable, and an easily replaceable battery.

I would also like to know if anyone has purchased either of these products for the 8125 I am looking to buy something in the next couple days. I called TomTom and they said that it might work but they arent going to say for sure until its been throughly tested. I tried to call Garmin but they are allready closed I will try calling them back tomorrow

I can personally vouch for the Holux GPSlim GR-236. Got mine from MobilePlanet. I have used it with PocketStreets, Fugawi, and WiFiFoFum... all work very well...

I seen the TOM TOM for 200 flat the other day on Amazon.

It is back up to $270

I should have jumped on it.

www.buygpsnow.com has a TomTom bundle with the Holux GPSlim236 receiver for $189 and it looks like you can get just TomTom for $129

Are we talking about the same thing?

That said I would stay away from TomTom. I haven't used it, but the reviews i have seen aren't real positive. I use iGuidance and love it.

That just basically makes me want to punch myself in the face. I was just talking to my friend about how if I could find a Tomtom for 200 even i'd buy it. Cheapest I can find it is 245.

Here's my question, for those who don't like the Tomtom...do you not like the actual hardware, software or both? It seems like its one of the smaller units, is magnetic and weatherproof so for me those are all pros. I'd imagine their hardware works better with their own software and besides price from what I've read I personally don't think their software looks bad...granted I've never owned any.

just my .02
