I was also wondering about the data charges... If I were to install Agile messenger and send txt, mms, and use web... How much cud the charges run up to... I've checked the cingular site, but it's not that clear when it comes to messaging---

Wirelessly posted (HTC-8100/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))
hahaha, I pity the soul who listens to what any Cingular CSR tells them.
If you're going to have a device like an 8125, an unlimited data plan is really a must IMO, otherwise you're going to be missing out on half the functionality of it. I'm on the grandfathered unlimited MEdia Works and am glad I am... I would've gone way over any of their pre-set package data limits long ago.

Yes, I understand that an Unlimited data plan is important- (there'd be no point in getting the 8125)It's just that I hear people say they're paying 19.99 and the sales rep told me UNLIMITED DATA = 39.99 and that's a little bit to $$. What am I supposed to say when I call back??

thats because 1 is unlimited data, the other is unlimitid media. Correct me if im wrong guys the unlimited media is for web browsing and few emails here and there.

The unlimited MEdianet plan which is $20 a month is intended for use on non-PDA handsets. The PDA-Connect plan is obviously sold with the PDA user in mind.
For most people using an 8125, either plan will suffice. The trick is getting the CSR to put Unlimited MEdianet on a line that is showing a PDA handset.
I bought my 8125 off of eBay and popped the SIM from my V3 into it and started using it. Then I called and asked for Unlimited MEdiaNet and they gladly added it to my line as they still think I'm using the V3.
This is not to say that someday soon they won't get wise and figure out that it's just not possible for a V3 to transfer as much data as I may be using. Plus, the 8125 is an EDGE device whereas the V3 is GPRS only so the V3 would be expected to use much less data over a given period of time.
If you are using certain VPN clients on your 8125, you may need the full blown PDA connect plan. I know there's a difference between the way your device is NATed to the Internet between the three data offerings (Unlimited MEdiaNet, PDA Connect, and Laptop Connect) I use the new CheckPoint Integrity-M client and it's seems to work just fine with Unlimited MEdiaNet though.
Oh, and if you're going to try and use DirectPush E-Mail, I belive they have changed the way that works with MEdiaNet. I tried it out before Cingular started their official launch and it worked fine over MEdiaNet. It has been rumored though that Encrypted DirectPush has been disabled over MEdiaNet, and is only available with one of the Push E-Mail packages that they offer. I was not using encrypted DirectPush though, so I would assume it still works. (Don't forget to turn off the proxy if you are going to try DirectPush though. It won't work with it enabled.)
