Motorola V325 sluggish?

It's been like this since I bought the phone, just kinda figured it was the side-effect of all the new features that phones have these days, but figured I'd ask just in case. Is it typical for the Motorla V325 (same interface as the RAZR i believe) to be sluggish and kinda slow to respond throughout the interface? Like if I were looking at a text message and hit END, it wouldn't instantenously go back to the home screen like my old phone would, it would have a noticeable delay. Same goes for hitting talk to go to my recent call list, as well as talk again to actually dial the number. It's kind of annoying, and if there's a tweak/fix out there I'd be more than happy to do it (I already tweaked it so I could use phone tools to add songs
)

I don't know if its normal, but I also experienced this sluggishness on my Moto V551 aswell, so I do believe it is normal. I never had anything major, just some 1 or 2 second delays before accessing certain menues, almost like a computer thats low on ram. If it isn't normal it could be a firmware glitch i suppose.

I was really hoping that it would be something I could fix, because although I'm used to it, I never really realized just how crappy it is that they put out the phone when it's sluggish like this

You got to understand that the ui on that phone and the razr are verizons.

Well then Verizon sucks for doing this
But is there anyway AT ALL to fix this issue?

if you want a great phone then get the e815 last to have the moto ui on it. But you could also asked them if there is a update to the firmware to that phone to speed it up i know the razr had a update to it.

Where would I be able to find if there's a firmware update? And if I were to update my firmware, would it conflict/undo the one seem edit I made?

New firmware is R9_1_X_05.28.1CP, per tech support. Check your local VZW store.

I just got a brand new V325 and already has the new firmware R9_1_X_05.28.1CP. So far, it doesn't seem that sluggish.

How do I check what version of firmware my phone has on it? Also, can I update it myself?
edit: I have R9-1_X_05.28.09P

You can't upgrade the firmware yourself. It has to be done at a Verizon store.
For what it's worth, I've had my v325 for about a month and I see no sluggishness. (I'm still on R9-1_X_05.28.09P) It has much faster response time than my buddy's RAZR. You mentioned that you put some songs on it. How many? If it's a lot, maybe that's the issue???

I have maybe 5-6 added mp3 clips for various ringtones, I didn't know/think that they would slow it down, though.

CASE,
I'm having the same problem! I JUST bought this phone last week (July 2006) and from the day I bought it, every menu has been SO SLOW! I have the .09 version if that means anything. Its the most annoying thing on the planet. I also have about 25 pictures in my gallery that the phone will not allow me to delete. Does anyone else think I should take the phone back to verizon? Would an update correct it. Anyone else with a V325 find that it takes a good two seconds to look at the recent calls menu? HELP!
