mpx200 problems

i bought a motorola mpx200 a few days ago the owner told me theres a prob with it so i kinda bought it cheap.. anywayz i cant charge it using its normal charger... i have to charge the battery by itself outside of the cell... thts the first problem and the 2nd problem i cant seem to use the media player... i have .wav files on the cell but i cant open em except in PHOto viewer... thts where i listen to them and not in media player whts up with tht! can any1 help me out with this please...
