Sooooooooooo After taking apart the SLVR I've realized that Modding a phone's physical appearance is not as hard as people might think.

I did attempt to change the face plates on my G/F's RAZR once but failed due to the cheap quality of the plates purchased on Ebay.....

At the end of this week I will purchasing these Items

OEM Dolce & Gabbana Face PLates

OEM Screen Frame and Front Screen

Hinges and Buttons

Key Pad

Transforming a Black V3 into this

In my opion it will probably look a whole lot better than that one since its gold and grey.....and the one Im making is GOLD and BLACK!

Which is alot cheaper than buying the ACTUAL Dolce & Gabbana phone which retails at over 700 dollars

Keep ya guys posted with updates....
Possibly a few pictures, but no walkthrough........when I start taking something apart I notice I cant stop to take Pics......sorry.

Anyone wanna bride me with money offers for a walkthrough or pics?

Thats awsome, looking forward to seeing the end result, I am planing a housing swap as well, I just need to find a OEM white, red or Chrome case, but that gold is nice aswell.

Not too fond of Gold myself........but you know GIRLS! lol
I would rather wear plastic and wood rather than uncomfortable GOLD or SILVER. OEM WHITE!?! that would look crazy.....I dunno......you might have to take out the spray can for that one!

Well the D&G phone is a v3i and not a v3... isn't the V3i slightly thicker by like a tiny tiny bit? Anywayz the real D&G v3i costs a lot mroe because they are limited in number and have # x/1000 on the back. There seems to be some that pop up with no limited edition numbers on the back. For $35 it seems cheap if u ask me... U sure it's OEM and u know that it'll fit?

I wondered the same thing. But there it is........

hold up.......sooo if im putting this on a V3 will i have any problems with fitmet? I really didnt think about that but then again I dont even know if my G/F has a V3 or V3i.....I'll have to check tonight

From what I heard/saw, the housings from cnn.cn are fakes but just good fakes... As for fit, I think the V3i is like a mm or two thicker than a reg V3... Although on the moto site it shows the dimesions as the same... Just not sure they fit tho.

ok...i just checked cnn and the've lowered their price...before when it was *rare*, the whole thing was mad expensive.

ive bought from cnn before....they look super real to me if you say they are fakes....i'd say 9.95/10 from the original

Well I gotta inform you all that I will no longer be doing this.
Thanks to HAVO I have learned that the V3 and the V3i are diffrent phones and the parts on them are slightly diffrent. CNN.NN does still provide the Gold Housing for the V3 but It just wouldnt be enough for me. I did Email CNN.NN asking them if any parts that they offer would fit the V3. I dont see why the butttons and hinges wouldn't fit along with possibly the Keypad..........maybe else can attempt it.

I was already about to hit the purchase button today when I gave your post more thought. I was about to purchase $75 in items that would not have been any use to me.

Wow, your post pretty much mirrors what I was going to do, exactly to a T. That is, I had a V3 that I was gonna mod to the black/gold D&G using the parts available at cnn.cn. I ran into the same problem with the V3 to V3i conversion (didn't try it, but read about the differences). Fortunately for me, I went on Roaring Rapids (a water ride) at Magic Mountain (a theme park) and I didn't have insurance on my phone and my phone got wet, fried, and died (yes, I tried bringing it back to life), so now I have the opportunity to buy a new phone. I'm gonna mod a "normal" v3i off E-bay since I already have all the D&G-esque parts. I see that they sell an iTunes version and a non-iTunes version. I understand the differences and would prefer the non-iTunes version.

My question is, will all the D&G monster packs, software, etc. needed to clone the D&G work regardless of whether I buy the iTunes or non-iTunes version of the phone?

cuz i have a v3, right and i gonna buy an oem face plate and sand it down and carry it to my cousins automotive paint shop lol
