New old 7100t

Hi, everybody,
I am a Rogers.ca phone plan only subscriber and just bought an unlocked refeb 7100t for a price I think is cheap to replace my Moto V220 whose screen is dead. I don't want to buy anything from Rogers, because apart from paying for the phone for almost regular price, they have to charge me C$35.00 administration fee. The BB accepted my Rogers SIM without any problem and I can make and receive phone calls. However, since this 7100t is a pre-owned, it comes with tons of contact names and messages. Can someone knows how to delete all of them in one go?

Thanks.

Options/Security Options/General Settings/ Click your track wheel then select Wipe Handheld.

I can't believe people sell their devices with all the data still on it! Did I hear someone say, 'security breach'...

I got a refurb 7100t from Tiger Direct. Same issue. I can easily find out who had my phone, and why they gave it up. Seems to be a Montrealler.

LOL!

Thanks for the reply, but I do not have Options on my main screen. I have Tools/Settings/Security and then cannot go anywhere. I am using BB V4.02.49 (platform 18.0.142) does that make a difference.

Thanks.

Tools/Settings/Security/General Settings
Click the wheel and select Wipe Handheld

Hunt around. It is under the Security Settings

Hi, Everybody,

My new old 7100T keep on turning itself off and pressing any buttons will not bring it up. The only way to do it is to remove the battery and reinserting it again. Any suggestions? I have use the wipe handheld command and is not helping.

Thanks.

Maybe there is something wrong with the charger, and it's not 'really' being charged. Have you tried charging is via the pc?

Thanks for the reply. The battery is fully charged to 100%.

Ok, have you tried, after clearing all the old data, a software reload/upgrade?

Posted by: yellow101

No. Please tell me how to do it. BTW I do not have a BB plan, I am only using it as a phone.

Hi, everybody,
Finally I got fed up with the 7100t being "crashed" constantly and have returned it back to TigerDirect. I like the device but cannot live up with having to remove the battery so many times inorder to reset it.
