5X9's into a jack for MP3

What I need to know is it possible to hook 5x9's or any speak for the fact up into like a jack so i can just hook up my MP3 Player without having to use a CD Deck. See I want to install Marine Speakers into my boat but right now i don't feal like spending the money on a CD Deck for my boat. So is it possible the way i am talking about??? If it isn't clear on my question just ask.

You could wire the Mp3 player up to the input of an amp. Then wire the amp to speakers. The MP3 play does not output nearly enough power to drive full size speakers.
