Kyocera K16 Faceplate help?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi, my daughter just bought a new faceplate for her K16 and the T3 screwdriver she was told she would need to install it. We can't figure out how to do this, we got the two screws out at the top of the phone and now we are stumped. Does anyone know how to change this faceplate? Thanks !

Please take a picture of the faceplate backwards so that I can see where the holes for the screws are...I can then give you exact instruction on how to install that faceplate

I think what's stumped you is that there are actually two more screws that you have to remove. Sounds like you've already gotten the ones that are above the LCD screen.

Directly below the LCD screen is a label for the provider of your phone service (for me it was an Alltel logo). Turns out that this is also a screw cover! It has some adhesive, so you may have to work at it just a bit to get it off. There are 2 screws underneath.

All the screws require (I think) a T4 screwdriver head. Either that or a T6. Once you have the 4 screws out, you can use a thin pry tool to pop off the faceplate.

Do keep in mind that you technically void your warranty when you replace the faceplate. You should hold onto your original faceplate so you can put it back on if something else goes wrong with your phone and you have to replace it under warranty.

You were right - two more screws right under the altell sticker! Thank you - it was easy after that.

just to let you know, you no longer have a warranty on that phone becuase you took it apart
