i860 "Enter Special Code Now" after recovery

I picked up a i860 today from a friend. It was having problems, so I did a recovery on it. When it was finished, it came back up and greeted me with "Enter special code now".

I called my local ASC and he told me to try to upgrade the software on the phone with the updater. No good... same issue.

Eariler, somehow, the phone came to the "Nextel" screen. Thought my problem was over. Power cycled the phone, back to the enter code thing.

I have tried re-writing the CSD file for the phone using the "NEXTEL United States" CSD file. That didnt help either..... I have even tried putting the phone into flashstrap, removing the battery, waiting a minute or so, and then put the batt back in and repower the phone.. nothing..

Reflashing, CSD updates... recoveries.... nothing is working. I even tried putting in all "0"'s in the field, then it comes up with "please wait to enter special code".

This is a Nextel sim in a Nextel phone. Right now it is turned off... hoping when I turn the phone on in the morning, it will start up right.. if not, off to the ASC.. unless anyone else here has any ideas?

Eather have them replace the phone for you or you will need to unlock the phone itself. Something set off the substiy lock within the phone

special code some times happens when you but a nextel sim card into a boost phone and the phone is not compatable with the sim.if you but a boost sim in it,it should work if you leave it alone for about 45 mins or so.

try calling customer care or maybe just put the sim case in another phone 2 c if its that...or try airplane mode
