Hello, I'm rather new to this modding bit, and GSM phones alltogether so bear with me please.

My employer offers an excellent cell phone plan through Cingular, with the downside that I need to acquire my own phone.

I did some shopping online, and bought what I thought would be what I was looking for: the L7 SLVR.

So after I recieve the phone in the mail, I'm shocked to see that not only did it come with a AC charger for another country, but also the instruction manuals were in Italian, and the phone was branded TIM (which after a bit of research I found is an overseas carrier).

Needless to say I'm rather upset, thinking that my bargain hunting might have just been a ripoff.

Is there anyway that I can change the software the phone runs off of to either be branded for Cingular, or just default Motorola settings (assuming that exists).

What bothers me the most is in the menu, there's an icon dedicated to the iTIM which I assume is their "Media Net" Is there anyway I can replace that with Cingular's service or if not to just remove it?

As far as accessories go it came stripped with those as well, the charger being the only one, but I can replace those cheaply I'm sure. But I guess what I'm asking is what would I need hardware/software wise to mod my phone to either Cingular software, or to default it to Motorola factory settings, and remove the TIM modifications such as the iTIM service. Essentially I just want my unbranded/unlocked phone to be as similar to a phone I would have purchased straight from Cingular.

If you guys could help me out I'd appreciate it very much!

hey alex, i am very sry to hear ur situation, all you need to do is to install ur phone to ur computer and flash it into a cingular firmware. here is a url to a thread where a nice member posted about a new firmware for cingular

after flashing the phone, ur L7 would be just like the cingular one, hope this will help
