And none of those tell you that by flashing your Verizon phone with the alltel firmware, you void your phone's warranty and Verizon will no longer support/help you.

Oh, and yes, flashing to the alltel firmware is the ONLY way to get rid of the Verizon RED UI from the phone... Sorry.

eh, i decided not to flash it.
but you say that you can't send things to a razr v3c with the verizon interface... is this true? because i definitely sent a few midi files and pics to my phone from a bluetooth-enabled laptop (macbook pro)...i just linked and then the laptop said that the transfer was unsuccessful, but i look in my tunes&tones and it's there.

Mark has a point, make sure you fully understand what you're going to be doing if you decide to. In the event that you mess up your phone, Verizon isn't going to help you. In most cases you will still be able to revert back to the V3c software if you're having trouble with the Alltel version.

You can still send files such as ringtones and wallpaper (as well as skins) to your phone with the Alltel Flash. I use the newest version of Motorola Phonetools to do so without a hitch

who said you CANT SEND THINGS?? I know I didn't.

Your OP asked about getting rid of the Verizon UI, and get the standard Moto one on... And we answered, you can NOT get rid of the Verizon RED UI... You can not use SKINS to change the appearence when using the Verizon firmware...

BUT if you flash to the Alltel V3C firmware, you can... it runs the standard Moto UI, and can use skins, etc...

Now, depending on the Verizon V3C firmware you have... If its Verizon's .02 firmware, it still has Bluetooth OBEX File Transfers enabled... .03 DOESN't have the code to do BT OBEX FT's... and .04 depends...

BUT with the Verizon firmware, you can still email stuff to your phone... and if you had a Windows PC, you can SEEM EDIT it, and make use of the Motorola Phone Tools software (aka MPT, formerly Mobile Phone Tools)...
