Inspired in part by my Wife's video iPod, I decided to rip and encode a few of my DVD's using PocketDivXEncoder and threw some full length movies on my 8125's 2GB miniSD card. I also downloaded TCMP.

During the last 24 hours, I've watched four full length movies (ok, I actually had them running on my 8125 while it was sitting on my desk to test battery life) and still used it as a phone and PDA, talking for almost two hours. Bluetooth and WiFi were both off.

Overally, I have to say that I am impressed with the battery life. Now I know I can watch a couple movies on an airplane and not be overly worried I will not have enough battery remaining to check voicemail or makes calls after landing.

For the curious, I watched Office Space, Vegas Vacation, Trading Places & Blazing Saddles. The audio & video quality were superb, not the least bit choppy and perfectly synced.

Hope this is helfpul information for those thinking of watching movies on their 8125's.

That's interesting, my phone barely lasts 3 days if I talk for a few hours and leave it in standby

Any tips on your settings for encoding with pocketdivx? I was watching an episode of South Park today, and there were a couple of skips. Nothing that lowered my love of this phone, but I guess I could use some help with the encoding......

I didn't change anything from the default values and had no issues. There were a couple of skips here and there, but attributed them to other tasks kicking off on the phone (PocketWeather downloading data, for example) and not to the actual encoding. FWIW, I used v0.3.60.

Thanks! I'll check my version.
