How do I connect my PC/Laptop to the net through Activesync (SDA)?

I know this has probably been posted before but I did an extensive search and just couldn't find the answer.

I have an SDA with full tmobile internet. I can connect to the internet through from my PC through bluetooth, but I'd like to be able to do it through activesync. I just am clueless on where or how to set it up. This is for 2 reasons....1. my laptop isn't bluetooth enabled and 2. usb is faster than bluetooth. So I'd like to test the ubs vs. bluetooth speeds.

So can anyone give me some clearcut instructions on how I can do this? I've tried connect to "automatic", "work" and "internet" but nothing connects. I'm thinking maybe thse settings may be more for the phone to use the desktop internet settings than vice versa....not sure though.

I'd connect the phone directly - since it has a direct modem link from the phone itself that I can just "Activate". But doing this brings up the 'detected new hardware' wizard but I can't locate SDA modem drivers anywhere on the internet and they're not on the CD that came with the phone. I wrote to HTC but haven't heard back from em', I suspect their response will be "ask tmobile" anyway. I'm an official 'driver' user, so I don't like custom drivers written by people. I found one such driver, but am refraining from using it until the finality is such that htc/tmobile doesn't offer a WM5 SDA modem driver. (I mean, how can you make hardware with a capability and put the software on the phone and NOT produce a driver to make it work? It's got to be out there somewhere)

Thanks.
