Problem.. HelloMoto then shuts off. Help.

After trying some flashes, my v3 Razr no longer boots up.

If I press the power button, key lights turn on, then i get the "Hello Moto" screen image, then the phone shuts off.

I can get into the flash screen no problem (* + #), I can also flash successfully, but no version seems to fix my problem.

Can anyone help me?

did you make full backup and PDS backup of your phone? if you did try restoring them. if you didnt.. well.... you're in trouble... and in for a headache.. no other PDS will work on your phone other than your own phone's PDS backup. and it sounds like you have a corrupted PDS.. however.. you could try motorola repair studio to repair PDS and then apply a full flash.... but do this at your own risk.
i just hope you made a backup.... that's just soooooo important..

thanks... i sent my phone off to be repaired...cost me $30, but its worth it.

The bonus is that I get it unlocked as well as functional.

that's great.... now.. i recommend you make a full backup and a PDS back up... i mean in case you wanna mod your phone later...

its not really that hard... the thing is you have to becareful.. not everything works in every phone.. read up.. and always have backups in case something ugly happens..

Please explain briefly what a PDS backup and full backup are and how to do them? Links would be appreciated, because I have one of these phones and have not made a fatal mistake yet, but it could happen one day. Thanks.

sure... ok... a full backup contains your phone's files everything is in it.... when you flash it back the phone will be like it was before (ringtones, images, etc). and the PDS backup is the most important one... the PDS is your phone's security zone... it's got info about your phone's model, imie, etc the PDS is unique to each phone and you cant flash another phone's PDS (even if its same model) to your phone.. it would kill it.. so its very important to have a PDS backup. you can do both the full and PDS backup using flashbackup. here is the link.

to make the backup go to the backups tap (duh) and then under backup mode you can choose the one you want.. make both PDS and full backup.. man.. i said backup so many times... :P i hope this is clear and doesnt leave any doubts.
