I know you can use Mring to set MP3 ringtones, but is it possible to set a background image on the treo?

You can also use Lightwav and Ringo for MP3 ringtones... For the background, what app are you talking about? Do you want a BG for the main Home app? or for the phone? For the home app, you have to have a program like ZLauncher or Skinner, but in the phone app you just go to the Menu in the Phone app and go to the General Options. The Wallpaper option is on top.

I'm under general preferences in phone and it just says "show dial pad", "typing dials phone number", "show calednar event, "and show favorite button".
