Project time...

So now that I have a E21 as my daily and a WRX as my winter/autox car I'm ready for a new project.

I need something to tinker with...what do you suggest?
Some things that I'm thinking about: a monster miata, 318ti, w201, 2002 w/S14 swap

Please keep it rwd though I would consider awd.

i think doing a little JDM 180 would be fun. A little expensive considering you gotta order a lot of stuff overseas, but i think it would be well worth the time and effort.

So you have an old BMW worth maybe $1000 as a daily and a new WRX worth around $20k ($30k if it's an STi) as a winter car? That doesn't make any sense.

Isn't the purpose of a daily to keep miles off the more expensive car? (not that a WRX would be classified as an expensive car)

Yes, but you usually wouldn't make the more expensive car a winter car either (that's what doesn't make sense).

Anyway, do you have a suggestion for my next project?

personally, i'd rather be drivin an AWD vehicle vs. a RWD car in the winter. For that reason, that makes perfect sense to me. Having AWD and/or 4WD is definitely really nice in the snow. Try driving an FR or MR car in the snow, especially a very light car, it's just not possible. Although the car is more expensive, i'd rather drive the safer car in the winter. Yeah the BMW isn't that expensive to replace/repair, but it's not worth the hassle of losing time or money. For my safety, and the safety of those around me, wrx in the winter and on the weekends for me if i were in the same situation.

I do see where you're coming from though, 91RS. Road salt, slippery roads and such.

Now I'm thinking LS7 into a MR2

You should do what I'm doing, Mazda RX-8 RENESIS rotary into a '98 745li, it's gonna HAUL ***. You have no idea, my friend did it (except with a '00) and it was unbelievable. The lower center of gravity plus the excellent 20/80 weight distribution made that thing handle like a dream. Plus you have room for all your hos.

You make an important point. How many dead hookers can you fit in the trunk of that beast?

Well we went out last night and clubbed about maybe 5-6 to death, all of them fit with no problems. We had a fat one that we had to cut into pieces though, that was a ***** but we went to home depot and got a DeWalt circular saw that finished the job in no-time.

Hmm, I've heard it's difficult to cut through people with those circular saws because of the blade guard. It doesn't sound like you had much trouble though.

5-6 is definitely good, especially when you're out with a group of people so everyone gets a chance. I shall consider this. I'm a little concerned about the RX-8 renesis rotary though, that might be a little too much power for me.

Yeah I know, the torque is staggering so it definitely takes a few weeks to get used to it. My friend went through an entire set of Pirelli P-Zeros, changing only the rears, before he learned how to start without vaporizing the back tires. That's with AWD disabled though, you might have more luck with the 7's AWD turned on.

How fast does that make you?
Low 5's to 60 and mid 11's? Assuming you can get any traction in the first place.
