hey everyone,
i have a unlocked jap firmware ver. 903sh fone, but when i open vodafone live (au) the pages arnt displayed properly, they just show up with a white background with blue text. can someone plz help?

sorry, never tried with a vodaAU sim. i know AL has though.. so.. with any luck he might see this thread sometime soon (hes travelling).

If you're just getting text that means Vodafone AU doesn't like the 903SH JP firmware and it's sending the text version of Voda live to you. Only way around this is to get it reflashed to Euro firmware.

It's odd though, I had thought JP firmware would still be fine with Vodafones outside Japan. I guess not...

hmm.. thats interesting. perhaps if he were to use a different browser would help?

A different browser? There's only the one Openwave one.

I just don't think VF live likes the ID the JP firmware is sending (it's slightly different to the Euro one's version).

you guys just solved a mystery ive had for a while.

now i know why my Vodafone live comes out in text version when I flashed my SE V800 with Z800 firmware but worked fine with the original V800 branded firmware. I was using Vodafone UK btw.

opera mini?

Posted by: Timsta

i was thinkin of loading up opera mini al.. wouldn't that work?

I don't think so, the proper phone's referral ID won't be sent that way... but try if you like. I can't try until I get back to Australia though, I switched from prepaid to post paid and changed my SIM in the process, locking all my Java apps, stupid DRM. I didn't redownload because I would have lost all my bookmarks...

oh.. thats just disappointing al.. i expected more from you.

Bah shut up you
