Hey guys, hopefully I can get some help here. My 8125 no longer allows me to install anything from any source, it always says installation of CAB file was unsuccessful before it tries to install. Additionally, Activesync always fails a few seconds into it. My internet browsing comes up with errors a lot as well. I'm assuming this is all stemming from the same problem......any help or ideas???? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Yea, i was just about to make a thread. My ****in activesync won't connect anymore. It just keeps saying that it needs activesyne 4.1 or higher. But the damn computer already has it. Plus, it was connecting before, but now this piece of **** won't connect at all. It's really starting to piss me off

Try using ActiveSync 4.2 that just came out on July 5th.
Hard reset the phone if all else fails

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 8125 (2.25 Rom): HTC-8100/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)
Another vote for hard reset here...

so it looks like hard reset is the only option here. Couple questions about that...will I lose all of my data? If so will activesync automatically reinstall everything like palms do? If it will not, how do I back up my 8125 if I cannot sync or install anything?? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!!

If you use Outlook on your computer and you sync your contacts, mail, tasks, notes with your 8125 then you can easly set up an new partnership after you hard reset to get that info back on your phone. However any programs and files you installed on your phone will be lost, so make sure you extract any files that you want to keep before hard resetting, also make sure you have the .cab or activesync installers for all the programs your going to want to put back on the device. Once that is done you should be ready to hard reset.

I am having the same problem. An installation failed of WiFiFoFum and after removing it, nothing installs now and activeSync will not recognize the partnership to sync, but I can still explore my phone via bluetooth and cable via activesync, it just says "Guest". I removed all files and the entries I could find for the WiFiWoFum and CF (bundled with it) in the registry via Total Cammander and softrest after each, still no go. I rather not have to do a hard reset and redo all my email settings, etc...but if I have to, anyone have a suggestion for another ROM?
