One year upgrade question

I currently have a 2 year contract so I am not eligible for a NE2 until 9/2007, however I want to get a new phone this upcoming August/September. Would I be able to purchase the phone at the 2-year price and extend my contract?

Well it depends, if you're a "Merits" member than you can upgrade once a year at the contract price, if your rate plan is below $79.99/month than you can only upgrade with your NE2. HOWEVER, I have seen where they will let a customer upgrade at the contract pricing after 1yr because it extends the NE2 another 2 years so its saving them $100 in the longrun.

most likely you will be able to upgrade by then at 2 year pricing.vzw is going to be changing policy to allow upgrading every 12 months.which should be in effect by then. but if you live in midwest market, like ohio etc. you can upgrade here still at 12 months. im going to do it here in about 12 days. going to get either the razr v3m or maybe lg 8300. havent decided yet on which im going to get.but i am going to get something.

My vote goes for the 8300, personally. My friend has one and has said on numerous occasions that it's the best phone he's ever owned. The ringers are ridiculously loud, the vibrate is STRONG, both screens look great and you can even change those idiotic red bars. Camera works fine, speakerphone is loud... I've not read any major complaints about it so far. A few minor quibbles here and there but that's about it.
