Wife shoved me in the pool and didn't know I had my phone in my pocket. After a week of letting everything dry out I turned it back on. Everything worked fine until the battery got low now it will not take a charge. The red light comes on but it does not charge. Bought a new battery and the same thing happened worked until it went dead. When I connect the charger it shows that it is charging but obviously it's not.. Any help would be appreciated and if it needs fixed recommendations would be appreciated also.. Thanks ahead of time.

Cingular doesn't offer insurance for the 8125 tried that when I got the phone. Or believe me I would..

I think you may be done for unless you scheduled it on an Inland Marine or something like that. The wife owes you a new phone.

when you remove your battery, did you see a red dot by your SIM Card ? if so, your phone has been marked as a water damaged phone which means that even XBM wont work in your case. Your best bet would be to send it into repair shop to get it fixed...

good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I think some of the desktop style chargers charge a second battery. Might be kind of annoying, but maybe worth looking into.

Make sure you are recharging with the stock recharger that came with your 8125. If you are not using that charger then this is your problem. The stock charger is a 1Amp charger and no HTC wizard will charge correctly from fully drained without it.

I had an 8125 go overboard and was in the lake for a day with no ill effects. Here's a link to that story:

These Wizards are tough devices!

Mine got dropped into a vat of lemonade. The earpiece vol was low. I opened it and cleaned the sticky lemonade off and 2 days later the volume was fine. I then discovered the vibrate feature did not work. I had to open it again and clean the vibrate module from the stickiness. So far everything works fine.

Look for the water-damaged red dot. The best way is to take it to a store and ask them to look for the red dot. If none found, call them up and tell them the thing quit working. The'll give you a new one.
