Going to HK soon, where to buy Sharps? (or phones in general)

I'm headed off to HK in a few weeks, and I was wondering where the best places are to go phone shopping, specifically for Sharps? I'm in the market for a 903/904. If anyone has any suggestions on where to look, about how much I should pay in HKD, other non-phone related stuff to see in HK, it would be appreciated!

depends on what phone you want and what is the price, coz the retail store (the service provider) usually charge 30 to 80% more, but if you just want one that with out warranty, try Mong Kok and Shum Shui Po

go to 'ap liu guy'... but gotta compare... some stores are rip off..n some stores look a lil fishy lol

Well I don't live in HK so a warranty probably wouldn't do me any good. I've been to Singapore before, and I bought a phone there, is it kinda a similar situation? Bargain, shop around, giant malls, etc?

bargain is hard in HK, but you can ask for more accessaries included for you, like protection film, handfree...etc.

Btw I'm not recommended you to go 'ap liu guy', they knew you are not HK people then preparing for a rip off. Monkok "sin tat" is cheap too but they are not too good either if you got no luck.

well i got my 904 at ap liu guy... bargained for around $500 off.. so total was 3100hkd... i'm not from hk... but yeah.. u can also try sin tat

yup AP LIU STREET is good but be sure to check all the accessories before you get out of the store. Also becareful when you get out of the store, I have a friend lost the phone with in 30 minutes hahaha

I have bought from the big phone place in Mong Kok (Sin Tat??)before without any problems (I am white-english). All prices are displayed in the window of each shop so apart from a few freebies don't expect to get too much more discount.

Prices vary from each shop quite a bit, so take an hour to check round everyone.

Often they run off to wholesaler to actually get the phone once you agree to buy, DO NOT HAND OVER ANY CREDIT CARD OR CASH UNTIL YOUR WORKING PHONE IS IN YOUR HAND AND YOU HAVE CHECKED THE CONTENTS OF THE BOX. IF YOU ARE BUYING SOMETHING THAT NEEDS UNLOCKING LIKE A SHARP TRY YOUR SIM IN IT BEFORE MAKING ANY PAYMENT.

Sorry to stress that last point and I am not saying that all phone sellers in HK are dodgy, but better safe than sorry.

Take Exit D2 in the Mong Kok MTR station. It's also walkable from the Mong Kok KCR station, although it's a 5-10 minute walk (in the sweltering summer heat of July). There's also a $2 discount Octopus machine for use in the shopping centre by the KCR station (i think it's called Century Plaza) where you can get a $2 if you make a trip starting from the MTR station.

If you need help, I would be happy to help you out.

i suggest mong kwok.

anyways, the price displayed on the window is not the final price, it can be bargain. If you and your friend need a phone at the same time, most of the time they will give a discount if you buy 2 or more phone. One more important thing, within sindat, don't speak too loud, because alot of those stores are actually own by the same person, even though they sell it for a different price.
