Who makes a better camera phone?

I'm trying to decide between the w810 and d900.

Doesn't the d900 have a 3mp camera and autofocus? Unless the w810's 2mp is unusually superior, a 3mp camera would take better pictures.

The number of megapixels has nothing to do with the quality of the picture. SE still has the best camera. The quality of pic has not been met by any other brand yet. The combination of autofocus, excellent quality and good, well thought out camera software make the SE a better deal.

i wouldnt say SE is the best camera... i have the best sony ericsson camera phone out to date... the k800i, dont get me wrong... its got an amazing camera.. the xenon flash... everything all together makes it really good, but the Sharp 903/904 take better quality pictures. They dont have the xenon flash though, and they also have a lot of firmware bugs... oh and another also... they're HUGE!!! But comparing SE or Samsung... definately go SE for a camera phone... k800i all the way

2mp and 3mp just tells you the size of the pictures a camera can take - and this has nothing to do with the quality of the pictures (take a look at ANY nokia cameraphone - the 3mp nokias dont even hold a candle to the 2mp w810)

my vote goes for se - awesome camera and WAY better ui than samsung...

HOWEVER, i consider samsung to be right on the tail of se in terms of picture quality (of course, sharp is at the top of the list) - i havent personally seen any pictures from the d900 but if samsung continued the trend from the d500 and the d600, its probably pretty bad a$$

if i were you - i would wait a little for the k790 to come out - thatll pretty much be the top dog...

EDIT - sorry, the k790 would be best if youre on an edge network - whereas the k800 would be the best if your carrier supports 3g...

I used to have a T68i back in the day and it was a horrible phone in terms of lag time. It would take for ever to switch from one app to another. I havent had a SE phone since, has the quality gotten any better?

oh man has it ever - i personally think (and this thought it carried by a LOT of people) that the t68 and the t610 are the two mobiles that pretty much ruined the relationship between tmo and se - nowadays, the units are pretty much top notch...

you have to keep in mind - those two handsets were pretty much the WORST se has ever made...

Another quick question. A friend of mine just got the Samsung SGH-P300. Is there a SE phone or any phone that comes close to the size of the P300? This thing is amazing, it has a 1.3mp camera, mp3 player, 80mb of storage space and is exactly the same size of a credit card (I know cause I checked).

I'm just commenting on general phones from SE and Samsung, I'll go for Samsung.

I had two SE and they both drop calls on me repeatedly while I use the same SIM card, same service provider with my old Nokia, and it works fine. I have a personal hate towards SE ever since. My friend's SE kept shutting down on her and she got fed up and got rid of it.

the w810 is probably one of the best "all around" phones
quadband, edge, 2mp with autofocus, good battery life and mp3 player.

For me the only letdown of the w810 was the screen. Just wasnt sharp enough.

No contest. K790a has all the right stuff for North Americans with great Image Quality.
