Razr V3m BitPim error message

I own a Motorola V3m for Verizon Wireless. I have it connected so my computer recognizes it as a modem and charges it, and I am also able to transfer music to it. However, when I use the program BitPim, when I click on phone info, it displays all the information with no problem. But when I try to retrieve any stuff from my phone, I get an error message:
Moto-V3cm on COM 4: The phone is not responding while manipulating the file system.
See help for troubleshooting tips.
But I couldn't find anything useful in trouble shooting. The "Block writing to phone" box is not checked off.
Anyone got any ideas?
