I just got my E815 replaced because of reception issues. So I decide that I'm going to flash it back down to the old firmware. When its all said and done it says that its successful but then when it comes back up it just freezes on the Verizon animation for a second then it goes until it connects to the network and then freezes again. It just keeps reconnecting and freezing. So then I start it up in bootloader mode and reflash it. It doeas the same thing. I've flashed it 4 times already and it does nothing. Is there a way to fix it? Maybe with a different flash?

What is the actual filename of the flash you are using?
Where did you download it from?
What is the exact filesize of that file?
What firmware version did the E815 come with? (I assume it was 1.1E.00? we havent seen anything newer yet)

The name is E815 VZW SW Upgrade File 8720_01.17.03.shx

I downloaded it from a link in howard forums. I downloaded it a while ago and just burned it to cd.

The file size is 48,926,720 Bytes

It originally came with 1.1E.00

I also have the motorola cable.

I flashed my old phone, the one that was having reception issues, just to see if it was the file and that one actually works.

Something is wrong with the phone, I imagine. Either that or something unusual happened during the flash to cause something to go wrong with the phone.

If all you did to that phone is try and flash it, and you hadn't done anything else to the phone previously, I'd say that there was something wrong with the phone in the first place. And even if you had brought it into Verizon, it would've got hosed for them too if they had tried to flash it.

You might have to return that phone.
