Help!! I just got this phone and I can not find any software to use with it so that I can download my address book from my old phone to the katana. BitPim does not seem to work for this phone. Is there anything out there for me?

I've been using this site:

Like liquid said though, this phone uses qcp or midi files as its ringers. I've been able to upload a bunch of ringers and homemade screensavers to my phone using this site. Hope that helps.

Whoops, this is originally about uploading your address book. I couldn't find a way to do it and even the Sprint store said they were unable to transfer my numbers from my 5300 to this phone so I just sat there and put it all in manually. Sucked donkey balls to do it but hey it needed to be done.

there are sights that tell you how to make the ringers for free... also your pics need to be 240x320.

I find it pathetic that Sprint does not have a standard application so that their own techs could interface with every new phone they sell BY THE TIME IT ACTUALLY HITS THE SALES FLOOR. On top of that, they should have a downloadable application for customers so that they can do things like phone book updates and upload/download picture from their PC at home.

that's because Sprint is pathetic. I use to be a tech. they wait for futuredial to do the work for them. cellphone companies are just like a walmart or target. they buy stuff from other people and provide the towers to use it (analogous to target putting all their crap in a building and you buying what you want.

i'm not trying to sound like a disgruntled ex employee here, either. just remember cell providers are marketing firms first. service providers second.

but hey they rolled out "wireless backup" or whatever they call it. if your phone is capable you can pay to back up your data and restore it wirelessly! how nice of them!

Yeah, I found that extremely pathetic. Paying to back your **** up? How much do you want to bet that they configure it in such a way that the phonebook isn't accessable from the USB cable in the future...

DataPilot works for moving contacts over.

I have a sanyo katana with sprint and i have done a lot of research trying to find a way to get ringtones on the phone, and the only way i have found to get a ringtone onto this phone is through sprint pcs vision, from my research i have found that there is no way to transfer pictures or ringtones to the phone from bluetooth or usb cable, apparently the phone is not made to support that. if anyone finds a way let me know i'm not on a plan with pcs vision and i've been trying to do this since ive got the phone
