Audiovox SMT 5600...old news or still good ?

Looking for a good smart phone, and I came across the Audiovox SMT 5600. It received the PC Magazine Editor's Choice award so it seems to be a solid phone. It's also a cheap 850mhz version of a phone with the features i'm looking for...

But is this phone outdated ? I don't know when it was released, but I was a little worried when I saw that it has Windows 2003 edition, which makes it sound older than it may be. I know the camera is poor, but i dont really care about a camera on a phone anyways. Any ideas or recommendations?

It's been out for 3 or more years I think but still a very, very nice little phone. W2003 isn't so bad. My only disappointment with the SMT5600 is lower RF than I'm used to with Nokia and Motorola. If you're mostly in the city you won't notice. Some people have a problem with dust getting under the screen but mine is still clean after 6 months (I use the belt case that came with it). Battery life is good, MP3 player (Windows Media) is ok. Bluetooth connection to PC is fussy (I didn't bother with it) but connection to headset is fine. Since it's a mature model you should get it for a good price. Enjoy.
