V3X and IHF1000

Have just installed a new IHF1000 car kit and I cannot get the Speed
Dial feature to work.
The kit replies with "dial failed" each time I try and use it.
I suspect it has something to do with the fact that my V3X will not
dial speed dial if you select the speed dial number and press the green
key, in that situation I get the error " unknown application". If I
hold the speed dial key down it works fine.
Any ideas ??
