(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

If anyone has some animated ringtone requests, I will gladly post them up for you. On LG phones with color front screens, the video is displayed there, so thats pretty cool.

Fire way!

ummm, does anybody care about animated ringtones on their lg, i mean this is big, but no one seems to care!!You know how awesome it is to have a video play when someone calls you, thats just crazy!! i want it please help!!!

Posted by: Deaddreamer

I do care.. but it seems a bit confusing where they would keep them by sorting through the file system on BitPim.

Posted by: NowhereFast

Hi,

I too have an 8100 and I've been playing with these video ringers...I tried passing them through bitpim through the ringetone dir, it gets uploaded but it doesn't show up on the phone...file format is .3gp or .3g2...I also tried renaming these to .mid since ringtones are in .mid format....THen I tried moving them over through the SD card, but I place them in the FLIX folder and I can view them on my phone, but cannot set them up as a ringtone....I guess I'll keep playing with them and I'm sure the file needs to be converted to another format....

Posted by: Deaddreamer

http://www.3gp.com/

You cannot rename 3gp files to .mid.. they are completely different formats. It would be just like renaming an mp3 to midi. One is binary data, the other is more like a script. If the phones have anything like MIME-types (which the brew site seems to support), it will use the wrong interpereter for it.

Posted by: prking

didnt the original poster say it has to be converted to mp4? At least that what he said.
anyways would the original poster please give a little tutorial on how to go about this please!!!!!!!!!

Com On!!!please!!
