v557 Ring

My girlfriends v557 just stopped ringing today. Volume is all the way up, but the phone will not ring, it is like it is silent unless you put it to your ear. Then you can hear a faint ring. Ideas?

None, the phone is unchanged out of the box.

rings come from the speakerphone - does it work correctly if you switch to it during a call or when you play any sounds?
