Question for Sidekick users....

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi,
I've been lurking and reading the boards...I have a sidekick 2. Not sure if I want to upgrade to a 3 beacuse the 2 is working OK for me now. I use it primarily for Email and AIM. Nextel is what I use for my phone service.
My question is, how old are most Sidekick users? I"m going to be 35 in a few months. I am married and have a 13 year old stepdaughter. I have heard that most Sidekick users are about 10 years younger than me...and just wanted to ask and find out. Anyone want to share and welcome a newbie??

I'm 24, one fellow user I'm buddies with is 36, another user is 29. I don't think it's too 'young' of a phone.

Im 22............

funny thing, i was thinking the same thing as the thread starter...except i'm 10 years younger...i'm going to be 25 soon and i keep thinking "geez am i too old for this?"

Well i got my first SKII when i was 13 but at age of 14 the screen broke so i went to a W600 so i think i might be the youngest one

Don't upgrade to the SK3. I did, and here I am 3 days later and it's on ebay. If your SK2 is working fine, keep it. it's no real upgrade at all.

PS-I'm 20

I am 30 and I love my sidekick...its not about how young the phone is ..its about how young you feel using it...If YOU feel to old using it...then go to something you think is appropriate..but if you dont mind it...then stick with it...I LOVE IT...I just got the sidekick 3 and when I get tired of it...I will switch ...i could care less who might think i am juvenile..thats a problem with them...not mw

I'll be 26 in January, and I have to admit I felt a *little* juvenile using my old SKII. It's not so much that it's a kiddie phone or anything but it's the way they market it. All the advertisements are aimed at the young hip-hop community, not at adults or business users. They could expand their user base vastly if they'd drop that human condom Paris Hilton & Snoop Dogg as their spokespeople & start advertising it as a corporate email/smartphone solution like Blackberry.

i'm 20 and though i liked the sidekick i always thought of it as a teenybopper 14-16 year old texting device...i wanted an sk2 but it didnt have msn messenger on it...i caved in and bought a sidekick for texting....real web browsing and mainly for im so i'm not on the computer so much and despite me still getting used to the speeds ...overallwithin a matter of minutes i quickly learned how most everything works and am glad i bought it ...this is one proud 20 year old new sidekick owner..im no longer a slave to verizons gin apps...outside of what i need and thier phone service ...glad to see older and younger people alike using this device...

Hey everybody...first post!

Well, I'm 34 and I just cancelled my Verizon contract to get a SK3. Through Verizon I had 2 PDA phones, an XV-6700 for a while and then a Treo 700w. Both ran Windows Mobile 5. I loved my Treo, it was a solid machine, but it was just TOO corporate. It just wasn't any FUN to use like all the regular cell phones I had before switching to the PDA's. Not to mention their unlimited data is WAY expensive.

So now I'm sitting here with my SK3 staring at the "Waiting for Activation" screen for the last 6 hours. I really hope it activates tonight or tomorrow morning....I've been without a phone for 3 days for the first time in 15 years!

Hehe I'm not gonna say my age (does a woman ever reveal her real age? ) but let's just say I'm "old enough".

I started using SKII when it first came out, after fully utilizing the Calendar, notes, and web I knew I couldn't go back to standard phones. I love writing little things down here and there, definitions I read that I plan to look up later (or I'd just look it up on the spot if there is connection), grocery list, furniture list, credit card close dates, reminders, you name it. When you don't have access to a GPS system, it's great to get driving directions on the spot with the web right in your hands (this was a life saver when I was visiting LA).

I also usually have the ipod hooked up to the car, and the download section of SK3 surprisingly keeps me updated with the newest songs (in the new and hot section).

Being on MSN all the time now allows me to stay in touch with family from around the world. I love my SKIII !!

I always thought the SKII looked very young and was hesitant to buy it. But when I saw the Sk3 I liked the look of it so much more, i think it looks more "adult" which makes me happy

oh and i'm 24

I had an SKII and now an SK3. I love the device! Personally, I don't think it matters what age you are at all. If you like it, get one!

BTW, I am 32.
