v3m: problems with my pictures after deleting locked stock pictures

Hello,
I have been able to follow mark's advice on seem editing and been able to use bitpim with my V3m. I did the USB-enabling seem edit on a windows machine and have been able to connect with bitpim on my linux laptop. File transfer normally works without a hitch. I've been able to replace the outside graphic with cl.gif's downloaded from the net and I've been able to upload and download gif/jpeg photos with no problem. Trouble is, I got carried away cleaning up the pictures folder (/motorola/shared/picture on the V3m) and deleted the locked photos (without making a backup). This seemed to work ok until I tried to transfer another wallpaper to the phone. The transfer goes through and the file shows up on the phone as the correct size but instead of the picture it gives me a little red x and under picture info says "none." Is there a way to fix this? I should have read a little more about deleting locked files before proceeding but it seemed to work so well at first. If I could obtain a copy of all the pics I deleted and put them back on the phone, would this work? Is there a lock database I can edit either with bitpim or on windows with p2kman? Would a "master clear" (although I admit I don't know how to do this or exactly what it means) fix this problem? Right now I am able to snap photos and retrieve them with bitpim but any pictures I move to the phone seem to get corrupted and are unviewable and not usable as wallpapers.

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give!

Sincerely,
Bradleee

Try opening the picture in your computer using Photoshop (unchecked Progressive and checked Baseline/Standard, then save it. If you dont have this Photoshop software, open it with PAINT and save it in diff file name as Bitmap and re-save it in jpg file.

what resolution are the picts you are trying to transfer to the phone??

Try and use 176x220 72dpi jpegs... see what happens..

Thanks for the replies. However, the pictures I am having problems with are wallpapers I have downloaded for the V3. The transfer (through bitpim) worked perfectly until I deleted the locked pcitures, and now the problems I've described above have begun. I am hoping a master reset/clear will fix this problem, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. I'll post results when I do. Thanks again!
