Does anyone know of any place that carries a USB data cable and a stereo headset for this phone at a reasonable price($40 for a data cable off the LG website?!?! I think not.)?

have you thought about using a bluetooth adapter. It'd be more versatile ( use it with other devices, not just the phone), no wires, and cheaper.

how about one for 25?

and cheaper, seems like a win-win w/ bluetooth

you can use pretty much any LG cable that works on a LG phone made within the last year or two. I have a l1400 and a c1300 that both use the same plug as the cu500. Cables are the same, just need the right drivers.

I have a Bluetooth USB adapter. Have had one pretty much since I signed up with Cingular. Got one for $20 off ebay. Seems like the cheapest, most versatile route to take, since BT is rapidly becoming a standard feature on mid to high end phones.

So, what they all said.

I bought the LG headset from manufacturer. I figured $20 plus shipping and tax isn't that bad. It's a shame they couldn't have included that in the box. Sheesh. And for those who haven't figured it out yet, a micro SD card is basically a must-have accessory for this phone. The onboard memory seems to be very limited. I went the ebay route with that, as well.

With the phone being so new, basically the best way to go is ebay, IMHO. It'll probably be a few months before the market has a sufficient supply of add-ons for the LG.

you can get a bluetooth adapter from around $5 and up on newegg

Aaah, I haven't looked at newegg for an adapter. I've had mine for nearly two years now. I keep telling my friend with a RAZR that she doesn't need a data cable. I finally had to show her how the BT adapter worked, then lent it to her. I'll go check newegg out and see if I can get her an adapter for herself. She could handle 5 bucks. Thanks for the tip!

Cingular had music kits at the store when we bought our phones. $40 for both the data cable and the LG headset. With a corp disc it was a decent deal.

Ebay has them cheap.

And no, no software is required as long as you have a Transflash card in the phone. It connects via the cable as a USB drive to Windows.
