3390 Signal Problem

I have Nokia 3390 right now given to me from my relatives from US. I successfully unlock it from T-Mobile but when I inserted any SIM, the phone has no signal and cannot send and received calls and SMS.

I think the problem is in the band coz US uses 850 band while here in our place uses 900 band.

Any advise please.

yeah it's at the wrong frequency then. 3390 is 1900 MHz not 850. either way it wouldn't work for you if the philippines uses 900

Is there any solution like modding, upgrading or software edit?

CORDAGS,

I think what you are asking is impossible. It is not something software can deal with 3390 because it lacks the actual hardware to access other bands. Anyway, 3390 is a very popular yet old model. However, there are now more newer and affordable choices working on 900/1800MHz bands in Asia.

I think there is. Software upgrade can possibly change the band. I have motorola E398 and I manage to change the band thru modding.
