M600i: Bluetooth Experience [Post Yours]

There seems to be a common thread with m600i users and the apparent instability of the configured Bluetooth functionality.
I am particularly frustrated because this phone does not appear to work with my auto's Bluetooth carkit (they see each other, but can't talk... its like an 8th grade dance in my ride).
Here's what I know: My m600i supports the hands-free and object-exchange profile. My assumption was that, any other BT devices which support these profiles could interact, no? Isn't this a standard protocol for Bluetooth devices?
Is this Bluetooth instability at the OS level? Ie. is this a Symbian/UIQ issue?
OR:
Is this a firmware / Sony Ericsson issue?

I drove 500 miles today with my M600i connected (via bluetooth) with my new SE HBH-DS970 bluetooth headphones. I charged both phone and headphones to full capacity before the trip. I was able to listen to about 3.5 hours of music before the headphone's battery died. I still had more than half of my battery life on the M600i. While listening to music, I was quite surprised with the seamlessness of taking calls and going back to listening music, checking e-mail and text messages. I only had to reset the phone once after a long call to get the RoadSync (ActiveSync) to start checking e-mail again. Sound quality with these headphones is quite impressive.
