Any way to unlock a V710 w/o the password

I am looking at buying a V710 off of ebay. The problem is that the seller says it is locked and he doesn't know the password. Is there any way to get around the password or reset it?

I don't think that will be a problem.
Have him go into the Programming Menu > Exentend NAM > NAM 1 > Lock Code
and see if that's all it is.

To get to the hidden Programming Menu you must type the following 8 keys without pausing for more than ~1second between key presses: Menu 073887* or #073887* on the V3c (since it has no Menu button)
Then use 6 zero's for the password

Make sure it isn't a lost or stolen V710 though - if it is, you won't be able to activate it.

Yeah check first, you can also call motorola support and they have a line just for unlocking the phone it seems alot of people lock theres and forgit the code lol .

Thanks for the help. Sorry about not responding. Unfortunately the auction went higher than what I wanted to pay. It's amazing what people will pay for broken phones. I have been looking for a V710 or e815 for real cheap to practice hacking on before I try it on the phone I use, so whether I can activate the phone doesn't matter to me.

You should be able to get v710 pretty cheap soon keep checking ebay you will find one dont give up takes time took me a while .

I've seen E815's get snapped up right away on a $120 BIN auction, you just have to get lucky.

I have seen recently v710 for as low as 80 to 90 bucks in good shape on ebay.

I managed to get to the password protect screen but 000000 did not work for me. Does any one have any suggestions as a next course of actions - in order to access the "nam"

You can find them in the seems do you need unlock or subsidy

Unlock: Seem 2784 rec 0001 bytes length A

Security: Seem 2786 rec 0001 bytes length E

Subsidy: 0055 rec 0001 bytes length E
