Auto delete for CU500??

Any one know how to set the text messages to auto delete from the in and sent boxes? I do a LOT of texting and I have missed three or more messages because the inbox was full and there was no warning to say to delete them because it was full. The phone just would ding-dong and quickly say text box full or something and reject the message until I deleted all of my inbox???

I looked in the settings and message settings and found nothing. I know I am just missing this somewhere so maybe help a goofy girl out and point out what I missed?

Thanks!

You've gotta know your inbox is full BEFORE YOU LOSE MESSAGES! but thanks for playing.

How many messages until it's full?

I'm thinking it depends on the memory space of the phone cuz there were like 78 or some odd number in there when I did it the first time and 62 the second time. I text an average 100 or so texts a day so missing texts because my inbox or memory is full cannot happen I wouldn't mind so much if there were a warning letting me know its about to be full instead oif just having it reject messages.

I haven't gotten a memory card for it yet, can't afford it at the moment, but maybe that will help? Who knows.

Update: I talked to LG and the lady I talked to there said that the specs she had indicated that the phone should automatically deletel the oldest message in the inbox and replace it with the newest message provided you have not chosen to save that message. If the oldest message is saved it will go to the next oldest. The lady said I should call cingular to exchange the phone.

I called cingular to exchange the phone and they told me that I had to either go directly to a corporate store to exchange my phone (which the nearest one I know of to Buffalo is NYC or Jersey 12+ hours away) or pay for a new phone and then ship back the defective one and wait for a refund on the ifrst phone.

Not to mention the trouble I am having with the keys not always working. (see post in CU500 Glitches thread)

So after two very lengthy phone calls to Cingular CS, I have been told twice now that I will have to fork out another $150 PLUS return shipping which would get credited to my bill NOT my credit card AND wait for them to process the return of the initial equipment and pray they actually do credit my card. The phone is in MINT condition as I have only had the thing for three days! GRR

OK I am done ranting. Sorry but this is just needed to vent my frustrations. This phone works excellently as my modem and I do NOT want to give it up but...hmmm what to do!

Not sure if that will help... I got a 1gb card, but there's no option in the messaging menus to use the card as primary storage (like there is in the camera and video menus).
