Nokia 6682 Question

This is not a big issue, just something small that kind of bugs me. Let me start with some background. I previously owned a Sony Ericsson. When it went into Standby mode, the phone displayed a large Digital clock. Well, you couldn't see this clock unless you pressed the volume button on the side which activated the backlight without activating the main phone display. I just purchased the Nokia 6682. I noticed that there is an informative display when in Standby, not just the time, but date, current profile and notifications for missed calls etc.. Unlike the Sony, I havent found a key that will activate the backlight in order to read this information without activating the main display. If there is no way to do this, I really dont see the point of displaying any information at all. Any help is appreciated.

i think i know what your talking about. try just pressing the power button.

It is the screensaver. I cant see it. What is the point of having a clock for my screensaver if I cant illuminate the background to check the time.

pressing the power button doesn't work. that activates the main phone display and gives me the option to change the profile. All I want to do is turn the backlight on for a few seconds so i can read the screensaver. Am I crazy or am I missing something. Please Help!!!

Under most circumstances, it should be visible even without the backlight. I have had the clock screensaver on my 6682 and on my 6230, and I never had any problems with reading it. If your keys are locked, pushing the power button will turn on the backlight... so if it is dark, and you want to see the time, you can do that.

To set your keys to autolock (highly recommended) go to Menu-> Tools-> Settings-> Security Settings-> Autolock period-> It will ask for a code.... unless you have changed it, it should be 12345.

I also wear this thing that came out long before the cell phone... a watch.

I forgot that the phone's autolock will ask for the code every time you want to unlock it... Try this instead: Autolock.
